I, Noelle, Persuade With Reason! [11]
Added 2025-06-25 09:00:35 +0000 UTCA dreamless night.
Early morning, the sky barely brightening, Noelle woke naturally. She opened her eyes, placed her hands over her chest, and stared blankly at the ceiling for a moment.
They can't grow any bigger. Any larger would just become a burden, Noelle sighed, turning over and sitting up.
Ever since she became a girl, most of Noelle's troubles arose from mundane daily tasks, like getting dressed.
How do you button this again? Lace edges? Pantyhose? Forget it, I'll just keep it simple. After my run I'll need to bathe anyway—I’ll put on the maid uniform and armor afterward.
Even after more than ten days had passed, Noelle still struggled when putting on clothes.
The only improvement was that she no longer flushed uncontrollably and buried herself in bed halfway through dressing.
After a flurry of activity, Noelle finally settled on a simple, breathable top—comfortably conservative and reassuring.
Will Lumine come today?
Before leaving the room, the question resurfaced in her mind. She had been looking forward to seeing her for days now.
Downstairs, a commotion rose from outside the Knights' headquarters.
Noelle opened the door to find dozens of Knights gathered, with Kaeya standing to the side, taking attendance.
This was routine morning training. Combatants, especially ordinary Knights without [Visions], needed constant high-intensity training; otherwise, their skills would noticeably decline.
Noelle didn't share this worry. With her [Constellation] maxed and talents fully awakened, swordsmanship had become instinctive for her, and her control of elemental energy was practically effortless. What she really needed was practice controlling her strength to avoid accidentally hurting anyone.
After greeting Kaeya, Noelle turned to find Jean and Amber.
As she descended the stairs, she spotted Jean and Amber near the fountain, already warming up, similarly dressed in lightweight clothes.
“Noelle, good morning,” Jean greeted while stretching her legs.
“Good morning, Acting Grand Master. Good morning, Amber,” Noelle quickly averted her gaze after one glance.
Jean’s legs were incredibly long and beautifully shaped, the smooth lines accentuated by her ponytail and leggings, giving her a poised and stunning appearance.
“You slept in today, Noelle!” Amber, always cheerful, teased as she jogged over.
“It was the bed’s fault,” Noelle replied seriously.
Amber’s eyes widened. That actually makes sense.
After exchanging a few casual words, the trio began their morning run.
Due to the occasional appearances of Hilichurls and Abyss Mages, they decided to start at Fountain Square, run toward Springvale, and make several rounds, clearing out any threats along the way.
But they were stopped at the Adventurers' Guild gates before even leaving the city.
Nimrod lay sprawled drunkenly in the street, while his wife, Eury, twisted his ear, scolding him worriedly. Nearby, Wagner from the blacksmith and Bennett from the Adventurers' Guild watched casually, evidently used to this scene.
Not wishing to interfere with domestic matters, Jean, Amber, and Noelle tacitly pretended not to see anything and quickly hurried past.
Once on the bridge, the three burst out laughing simultaneously.
“Nimrod is way too unreliable,” Amber couldn’t help commenting.
“Indeed, very unreliable,” Jean agreed, quickly stealing a glance at Noelle and recalling yesterday's incident in her office.
“I can’t deny it,” Noelle suddenly understood why Diona despised alcohol so much.
They fell quiet afterward, concentrating on their run.
Jean, with her height and stamina, led effortlessly. Noelle and Amber followed closely.
Though the scenery was lovely, Noelle found her gaze drifting to Jean’s figure ahead.
Each girl had her own beauty—Amber’s youthful energy, Lisa’s mature charm—but Jean?
Noelle suddenly recalled a popular phrase circulating around Mondstadt: "Jean’s hips, the Knights’ soul."
Yet Jean’s usual seriousness and reliability discouraged impure thoughts.
Perhaps it was this blend of youthful shyness and mature confidence, this balance between restraint and warmth, that made Jean so captivating.
Enough, Noelle admonished herself inwardly, refocused her thoughts, took a deep breath, and sped up to match Jean’s pace.
Crossing the bridge, the mist cleared, revealing the rising sun reflected off Cider Lake, bringing vibrant life to everything around them.
“It really is wonderful, being transported to Teyvat,” Noelle quietly remarked with an inexplicable feeling.
During their final pass through Springvale, the trio saw Diona stretching lazily in the sunlight on a nearby platform. The little calico girl, her arms raised like paws, murmured sleepily, “So comfy… feels like my body’s softer,” rubbing her head adorably. Noelle couldn’t resist pausing to pet her.
Half an hour later, they concluded their run, returning together to a gradually awakening Mondstadt.
“Acting Grand Master, Amber, come to my room for breakfast later,” Noelle suggested before parting ways.
“Sounds great! I’ll shower quickly and meet you there,” Amber beamed, thrilled at the unexpected treat.
Saying goodbye, Amber cheerfully hurried home, humming as she showered. Warm water cascading over her, she closed her eyes, Noelle’s face popping into her mind, making her smile fondly.
“What a dependable junior.”
After quickly dressing, Amber hurried to Noelle’s room. However, upon opening the slightly ajar door, she found the room empty.
“Noelle?”
She called, receiving no reply. Knowing the routine, Amber approached the desk and spotted a note.
[Baron Bunny, I’ve gone to wake up Klee and Lisa. Wait for me. —Noelle.]
“Stupid Noelle! Calling me Baron Bunny again—hmph!”
Amber sat down, twirling the note around her finger absently.
Elsewhere, Noelle had just awakened Klee and was attempting to dress her.
“Come on, left arm out.”
Noelle sat at the bedside, holding Klee gently, guiding her tiny arm into the sleeve.
Klee’s eyes were shut tight, her small face flushed sleepily.
Hearing Noelle’s voice, she mumbled incoherently in response.
But before the sleeve was fully on, Klee nodded off again, collapsing onto the bed in a sleepy heap.
Noelle sighed helplessly, gently covered Klee with the blanket, and decided to return later.
Turning left out the door, Noelle entered Lisa’s room.
Lisa was awake but still lounging comfortably in bed, reluctant to rise.
