World's End Progress: 50th page achieved!

Hi Everyone! In lieu of a quarterly review, I’m so pleased and proud to announce that I am 50 pages into the script/first draft for World’s End Detective Agency. Only 150-ish more pages to go! Whee! This feels huge, due to all the factors + hindrances to concentration and personal productivity since early 2020. While the road ahead seems daunting, I remain deep in the world and story and will press on. Thank you all for your support, interest and engagement.

For those just tuning in, a recap of our cast of characters:

Avery Bear (Heroine/Bear-oine of the story. Newbie detective.)

Bob Honkensnoot (Avery’s companionable new employee)

Shank, aka “Mr. Sprithers” (Avery’s first proper client, whose case gets dodgier the more she investigates. Shank is actually Dragon’s chamberlain and right-hand-rat.)

Dragon (The client-behind-the-client, whose property went missing and whose chamberlain, Shank, is discreetly trying to find it via the services of World’s End Detective Agency)

Ellen Brittle (Former loyal servant to Dragon and suspected thief)

Renée (Former loyal servant to Dragon, bff of Ellen, fugitive)

Camille Bear (Avery’s overbearing, super-detective mom; Pictured below with Kevin, Avery's little brother.)

CURRENT DEVELOPMENTS
I continue to work on maintaining a balance of writing/roughing out the story, with worldbuilding through mapmaking/sketching; character development via experimental shorter comics; and sharing aspects of story/world/character evolution.

WHAT’S NEXT
I continue to rough out the next scenes, starting with super-rough thumbnails in Any Crappy Notebook™ ...

...and create less-rough-but-still-rough panels in ye olde paper mock-up.

In the coming weekly posts, I return to the master list of settings, which have been super-helpful in planning scene layouts.

Finally, Dear Patrons, thank you so, so much for sticking with me here. I love sharing the extra details with you.

See you next week!

Love how you’re sharing your progress. You’re an inspiration. Looking at your daily posts on Instagram motivated me to start the 100 days of making comics for my own graphic novel. Good luck to your next 150 pages :)

Haha totally :D
