The Buffet Incident Part 6

Apologies that this one didn't drop right on time! Had a little bit of a glitch this morning while uploading that had me re-writing the part from memory.

Also: remind me to never bank on simulated clothing when working with bloated tums anymore. Part 7 isn't even finished rendering yet 🙃

They went off to go get their second round, perusing through the food options as though they were on a mission. This time, when they came back Adie and Lynne both had a platefuls of pasta, topped with a ring of garlic bread. The pair were convinced that if anything could fill them up, rich, carb-dense Italian food would do the trick. However, the two chatted as they plowed through the second of their meals that could have fed a whole family, and before they realized it both had gotten through their whole plate.

Their stomachs growled again the same way that they had after the first round. Adie looked up at Lynne. Both of them were just shocked that they could still possibly be hungry after enough food to satisfy a party full of people. I guess there is such a thing as a party of two, Lynne rationalized. Adie was the first to speak up after their stomachs had made clear what they wanted, "this is an All-You-Can-Eat Buffet, right? Might as well go get our money's worth if we're still this hungry." Lynne sighed, "Adie, I don't know what's going on, but I'm still hungry, so let's go get one final round." Adie's face brightened up, clearly beaming at the fact that Lynne was in with her for this ride. "Just don't come crying to me when you regret this tomorrow," Lynne concluded.

They heaved themselves up to go for what they believed would be their final meal of the night (spoiler alert, it wouldn't be). They went over to the dessert bar and saw that the special that day was a series of cakes that they had way more stock of than either Adie or Lynne would have thought necessary. "There's easily a couple dozen of these cakes here," Lynne suggested, "let's just grab one each so that we don't have to keep coming back." Adie agreed and they went back to their booth. They sat down and dug in. The cake was amazing. It was such a wonderful cacophony of sweet flavors that they barely even talked as they absolutely demolished each of their respective cakes, practically inhaling them in record time.

After she finished, Adie leaned back and checked in with her stomach. She looked like she was full term with her food baby and ready to give birth at any moment, and yet... She shot a glance over at Lynne who appeared to be in disbelief at how much food she had been able to cram into herself at this buffet. Lynne looked up at Adie as well and the two didn't even have to speak a word. They got up to go get another round.
