LOL! I don't think you have to take Black Zetsu's word seriously. He just manipulated them to guide them at an endpoint but the decisions where all Madara's idea. Black zetsu thought he fail when Madara lost so the only way Black Zetsu influence him was with the Uchiha tablet. So yeah he is just hyping himself up trying to make himself look like a master strategyzer. Plus it does make sense for his character since he was always in the background recording everything.

That definitely was a hint an odd looking back now

if you go back to the first naruto v sasuke battle in part one, you can hear kakashi mention the destiny of the uchiha and senju, you also see black zetsu for the first time saying "things have gotten interesting" out of nowhere in ep 134 which kinda implies he is a big character but for later on. I do understand how abrupt it all happens tho especially at the end of shippuden.

Honestly after watching the reaction y’all bring up fantastic points. I don’t think my problem was ever with Kaguya herself its more so Black Zetsu being the mastermind behind the scenes. Lindsay explains it perfectly that they could’ve just had Kaguya manifest simply from having Madara use the infinite tsukonomi lol. After tangling with God like powers he doesn’t understand that would’ve been a great way to bring her into the story. Black Zetsu manipulating things from the background just undercuts everything the story stood for.

Uhmmm noo??? The majority of Boruto is canon. Only like 11% is legit filler. Some of the anime canon arcs they can skip but the majority should be watched.
