So there was nature on that moon. Remember when Naruto got his chakra sucked out and it created that huge crater? That was a forest/woodsy area. There were also plants n such in that area that Naruto and Hinata were alone and flirting. So it makes sense that he can use sage mode

Edit sorry had to add one more, nice discussion afterwards. On the scarf symbiology, think about this. Kushina who loved Naruto unconditionally but died, made a scarf that survived hell and high water to finally make it to Naruto...Hinata who survived hell and high water but was trying to make a scarf that kept getting wrecked finally "made it to Naruto", together with Kushina's scarf. Thus symbolizing Hinata "inheriting" Kushina's role as the one person who loves Naruto unconditionally. Its kind of a beautiful metaphor.

My final bit on this one. The reason they did this as a movie or they do all those anime movies and kaiju movies, is that they make big bank in Japanese theaters. Unfortunately they never get released her like that to any degree, but whatever.

Remember its post final battle with Naruto and Sasuke. Kurama has both his Yin and Yang chakra aspect back. Yang provides power, Yin provides shape. Kurama can manifest fully on his own now. He looks like Naruto and not just his normal 9 tails form because he gets a chakra cloak power up similar to what Naruto does because they are a perfect Jinchuriki/Bijou pair and of course he benefits from Naruto's sage abilities. Seth the Programmer has a video or three going over this stuff. He's probably the best guy for explaining Naruto with evidence.
