Fair enough, but you at least gotta love Itachi in the novel killing Izumi first by putting her in a genjutsu, living their whole lives together before she died. Personally think it’s the best arc in Naruto, subjectively, cause i’m exactly like Itachi, having a hard time enjoying life, cause your top of your class, a prodigy, very logical, mentally way above others and not seeing the meaning of having fun with friends and being social, broadly speaking. People might aspire to become like those talented, top of the class people, but it can be very hard in a completely different way than with Naruto and the other “non-talented” characters. Feel like a lot of people love a villain like Madara who is just good at everything, metoo, but if you’re a good guy and good at everything, you’re a boring character, even though you might be struggling more than anybody else mentally, like Itachi. Even though you disliked the arc, i think it would have been interesting to see Lindsay’s reaction, and hearing you say the things you just said in the discussion afterwards, to add a different perspective to an arc that most people love, like the video you did with Lindsay’s reaction to the pain arc, which was also very different than most people’s reaction. Thanks for taking the time replying to my comments, and hope you enjoy Boruto. P.s. please try and read the Itachi novels as well, they have a lot of Itachi inner monlogue, and, in my opinion, takes the Anime adaptation to a new level, especially that Izumi genjutsu chapter, could have been the best, most emotional Anime scene ever, had they included that and done it right… maybe one day. And don’t feel bad for me, i have found my own enjoyment in life, like watching you guys and other reactors, even though we disagree sometimes :)

It suffers from what a lot of shippuden does, which is that its too caught up in the past and adds things to past events rather that try to create something new. Like a certain character in that arc being much more powerful than we had assumed the first time around, among other things. The arc doesn't improve anything about Itachi's character or story, it just shows more of it. Which I didn't really care about (even though itachi is my favourite character). We know how itachi lived, we know about shisui, we knew everything we needed to know that was important and cool about that period, and just piling on more things just wears it out. It feels pandery and exhausted to me.

2022-01-22 03:47:33 +0000 UTCOk, thought you hadn’t, just wanted to ask if you know how she died in the novel compared to the anime, so you could have told Lindsay about it, or done a reaction to that 4 page chapter in the novel where Itachi kills her instead of Obito on the Anime. And why didn’t you react to the Itachi arc, if not cause you thought it might be bad like the kakashi arc, cause assume you loved it like everybody else? :)
