Yeah i mean its a bit of a kop out for parents not to be in it, but the reason why they are not living together has been mentioned prior and will be brought up again at some point

This show is known to feel like a full movie in just the first third of the show and the quality does not drop the rest of the show. Also yes culturally it isn’t as uncommon to live by yourself since the age of consent in japan is 13 and you see little kids lil 8 year olds being trusted to go to school by theirselves. It’s a belief of independence and responsibility even if it might seem irresponsible to us. But there’s an actual reason why the parents are away they just hinted to some of it but they aren’t actually written out of the story don’t worry in any case this is going to be a fun and emotional ride uwu. Also will we be able to see the reactions to the endings?
