Those are cool details but I think the way they did it without that is also a strong choice which allowed the ending to feel like it was unexpected and we were being swept along with Ray to follow Emmas secret plan

2021-01-28 06:08:07 +0000 UTCI remember were some small details in the manga about the kids' training session which were omitted in the anime -- like how during training, they figured out problems which would have been catastrophic if they'd left it for the escape themselves (a rope made from tied-together sheets caused knots that the hangers couldn't go over, so they solved this by sewing the sheets together instead), or figuring out that they needed to tie their hands to the hangers not just hold onto them, so that they wouldn't fall. I liked that because it helped to reinforce the point that the months of preparation and careful ironing out of problems were in fact crucial for the success.
