One important thing that is lost in the dub is info you should know like the Name of shikamaru and it's relationship to deer. Or Choji and Butterfly. Or the name Shipudden and it's translation for instance. When I watch your reactions in this format I am re-watching on my dvds in Japanese along side ya, so the differences stand out more when they pop up. But any 5 year old Japanese speaking kid would have already known about these things before they are flat out told to us in English. As for what the black shit is in Kakuzu idk myself. when I saw it when it was in manga format I thought it might be veins and arteries. But as we saw it more and years later when it was animated that seemed less likely. Sound design for it in the anime is on point though.

2021-02-09 19:06:04 +0000 UTCThanks for the episodes :)! I don't remember if you mentioned the reason and apologize if you already knew that fact about the deers in Shikamaru's clan forest. It's related to the fact that "Shika" means "Deer" in Japanese. Tsunade mentioned in the first season that they use their antlers for medicinal purposes (after Naruto VS Sasuke's last battle). Also you can see deers freely in the city of Nara, in Japan, like Shikamaru's clan name.
