Naruto Shippuden Ep. 165

Comments

The entire point is that there is a flaw, Pain knows lasting peace is impossible and thus a small amount of true peace between war is better than no real peace at all.

Ghostwolf

"Peace is nearly within our grasp." Like Nagato or not that moment always gives me CHILLS.

Chris

everything you said is true, and I talk about that i believe in this discussion. The only part I disagree with is the idea that vengeance had nothing to do with it. When Nagato decides to use rinne rebirth he admits that he was blinded by his own hatred for the village and the world. Nagato is in some measure fueled by revenge. A lot like Light Yagami, he began his journey with good intentions, but along the way through various circumstances, he became blinded to the hope that things could POSSIBLY change for the better. Unlike Light Yagami, he never enjoyed his path, however he did shut his eyes to the idea that any true form of understanding, even the one he himself is presenting could come actually come to pass. Tacitly admitting that the hatred was what was fueling him by that point, not merely the cold and pragmatic crusade for peace.

Guys chill. Even though she can't see it from Pain's perspective, I've never seen Lindsay this emotionally invested in a show. Which is a W for Naruto.

Hero

What Pain is proposing is no different than the system in place in our current time. The tailed beast bomb is basically an atomic weapon. mutually assured destruction (MAD) is the system Pain is trying to create but it's also what's happening now, when majority of big countries (like Hidden Leaf) have "tailed beast weapons" but are afraid of "pain" which they know from 1945 when they learned about it. He wants to teach the world "pain" to make them "grow up" like he did. And create momentary peace (like today), until it's reconfirmed again. He's not calling himself god simply because of his arrogance but he feels responsibility since he is powerful. He's also not doing any of this because of vengeance, he's just using his experience as a framework for his project. He explained this clearly to both Jiraiya and Naruto. People are still cool with Orochimaru who was a legit psychopath but don't understand a reasonable and well written villain who's doing terrible things but for a noble purpose. It just made perfect sense to me and everyone else that I know has watched this arc. I know he killed 2 of the coolest characters ever so it's hard to listen to him but he is the character the made a lot of people think the most from entire Naruto manga and anime.

Does she also feel this way about eren? Because it’s not all that different

Yasito Jimenez Moncada

She will never comprehend pain 😈

Gotta say her take was a bit naive an only through the eyes of the hidden leaf, so what are people like Pain, Sasuke are suppose to do about all the atrocities committed against them ? They live in a world where they have the power to make change an exact revenge or get justice on their own, would you not do the same? Ultimately she is right about the path Pain is choosing to take, clearly his warped view of peace isn't as ideal as what Jiraiya was yearning to achieve, I was expecting a bit more of a understanding nature from her as to why he came to the conclusion he came to, Carson definitely gave her a lil more perspective though, but yea great reaction an discussion guys!

Shyakugaun

So pain destroys the leaf village and you hate him but the leaf is partly responsible for destroying pains homeland and nothing. Let's not pretend the leaf is innocent in all this, look what they did to the uchiha clan to pain and his nation they in a way created pain.
