Naruto is Japanese always says “dattebayo” and for a while they made him say Believe it to compensate for it in English, but that became very unimportant in the eyes of the studio so they stopped that. His mom actually says “dattebane” and both words don’t mean anything they are just catchphrases they both say because of how sporadic they are. So when kushina said dattebane that’s why naruto was shook and asked “did you say dattebane?” Because it obviously sounds like dattebayo owo
