LOL, you writing like that because you already knew who that madara is, and what he will do. At the point minato encounter him, he DID NOT KNOW who he is, he DID NOT KNOW what his agenda. So what when someone barge in and threatened to kill your son you should just leave? he responded as a normal father which is to save his son. Then, he saved kushina but unfortunately too late. After that he went to the village to face the 9 tails, but then madara disturb him and tried to teleport him to other dimension, so he reacted and fleeing to draw madara away and fight somewhere else. Other than that, konoha got lots of skilled shinobi + hiruzen to draw kyubi away from the village, yes village is destroyed but thats why not many casualty because the shinobi responded well. After the fight with madara he return back to village and take kyubi with him. To seal of kyubi power he did what he has to do as a father and as hokage. And how could he tell anyone when he was dead? is it wise to go tell someone things while something big happening? he prioritized things first. He is the hero! You just see it the wrong way. Its not minato fault, its madara fault!

Minato always annoyed me because of these episodes. He really wasn't worthy of the rank of Hokage, and Hiruzen shouldn't have appointed him. If only Minato hadn't fallen for Madara's provocation when he threatened to kill Naruto, none of this would have happened. He, since he wanted to become a Hokage, should have thought first of the village and its inhabitants, and not of his son. How many tens and hundreds of children has the Nine-Tails trampled on now? that's a good point actually. And weirdly enough it seems like it must have been planned rather than a "well if you look back it actually makes sense that this/that happened so it fits"

Just a small detail, but I really like that Sasuke's parents aren't around during the attack. Fugaku being the Uchiha clan leader and also coincidentally being MIA while the nine tails is rampaging makes the village's subsequent suspicion of the Uchiha much more believable to me. Makes me wonder if Itachi was also suspicious of his father's involvement in the incident and whether that had any bearing on his decision leading up to the Uchiha massacre.

As strong as Hashirama is, Minato is the coolest Hokage in my opinion, just what you would expect from the number 1 academy student, though Tobirama looks the coolest :)
