THE PAIN DISCUSSION!

https://youtu.be/PkfPSoz2FU0

FINALLY its here! We recorded this months ago, but i finally got around to putting it together, and its honestly really good. Its a great discussion in so many ways! we talk about the pain arc from a lot of different angles.

i was also wondering if you think it would be better with some soft music in the background or do you like it just as is? I'm debating adding some.

Though redacted and clannad will have to wait for today. cause I still need to edit them. They will be out before the day is over, but i need to get some sleep!

THE PAIN DISCUSSION!

I think one of the problems that some people have with Pain's redemptive act is one of moral philosophy. In middle eastern based religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam), also called Abrahamic religions, you can't redeem yourself per se. You can only try to follow a set of rules and even if you deviate from those rules, so long as you repent, you are redeemed in the deity. Naruto however, is grounded in Buddhism, where redemption is something you gain by achieving balance in a life and then spending the next life as a reflection of unresolved issues. Pain redeemed himself when he resurrected Konoha, not because he had killed all those people. But because he surrendered the core of hate he gained when shinobi from the Leaf murdered his family in front of him. That is the inner hatred that led to Nagato snapping and becoming Pain. Nagato did not resurrect the Hidden Leaf because he wanted to undo that per se. If you listen to the dialog, they say that there is still time for Nagato to resurrect those he had killed recently. Nagato wanted to undo all the damage he had done as he realized that there was still hope. That the dream that Jiraiya had passed to Nagato, Yahiko and Konan did not die. That Pain himself had started working against that dream. And that he had given in to the hate that festered since his parents were murdered in front of him by the Leafnin. Nagato realized that in his fall into despair and hate, he was not actually working towards peace but working to tear down the system created by the Leaf (as you learn later by Hashirama and Madara). In Naruto he saw someone who had suffered more than he ever had and who rejected hate and pain as a solution. Only accepted them as something to endure as he worked towards a solution.

I was like 'wow that cat is so still' for a whole-ass minute there lmao. Anyway i really enjoyed this discussion and would love to see more in the future! I too don't think the music is all that necessary but it might add to the atmosphere a little, iirc you used music for your end of part 1 discussion, but i don't think it needs it

This proves you care about what you're seeing and your viewers. This was very interesting but remember you don't have to justify your optinion :-). Just enjoy the show and tell what you're thinking about. Some people are not able to accept a different view on things they like.

Flavio Infantino

you may want to add chapters/sections or whatever it is called on the video that way, viewers can easily access the topics/chapters/sections that they are interested in

For me your reaction was fine, for you. I and the rest of us are different people and all react differently to Nagato mission and his back story. To this day like with Danzo my feeling have never changed, yet I appreciate the back story we got before they both died and I can see why they did what they did. That still does not change how I feel about them overall. The long an short of it is does the back story redeem the character for the negative things they did while they existed in the series. In both cases the answer for me is no. In regards to Danzo if I were forced to choose Iwould choose him over Tsunade if we were asking who was the best Hokage based on how they should have ruled the village during their time. But I also don't agree with how he went about it. Nagato is the same. The things he did while he was alive were both evil and wrong. He himself recognizes that as we see both in his actions and his death. Then later we get a bit more on how he felt about the way his life unfolded. I get that he lost a lot, but I do not forgive him for the deaths that he caused either. I pity him for being weak, but praise him for overcoming that weakness in his final moments.
