2024-08-08 15:55:03 +0000 UTCI actually felt really bad for Rory when she came to the diner because as immature as she acted prior to her current situation from her perspective she wanted to take time off school because she was struggling but her mom cut her off and told her she can’t come home if she doesn’t go back. Still on Lorelai side though but I agree that they BOTH could handle things a little better

In my view, that's not so much "tough love" (characterized by boundaries, alright, but also emotional support and care). It feels more like "my way or the highway" at this point in time.

2024-08-07 21:53:02 +0000 UTCi get being on lorelais side but pls dont forget that rory didnt cut off lorelai, lorelai cut off rory. yes she has every right to be upset with rory for not going back to yale immediately but rory isnt not talking to lorelai, lorelai doesnt want to talk to rory until shes back in school. whether she wanted to or not right now, she cant go back to school. its summer break and she has 300 hours of community service so she cant be a student right now either way and lorelai said in this episode rory has to go back to yale for them to talk. not to mention the last scene where lorelai pulls up to rorys community service and immediately starts talking crap to her when rory wouldnt have even noticed that she drove by, so she literally just stopped to argue. also, as someone whose mom didnt let them know when she got engaged, it does hurt. no matter what their current situation is, rory was blindsided by her mom getting engaged and it wasnt even her mom that told her, which rory could obviously connect the dots and realize that she wouldn't have been told at all if she hadnt stopped by to see luke, which i personally think she has every right to be taken aback by.

2024-08-07 21:41:35 +0000 UTCRory can’t go back to live with lorelai since she made it very clear that is not an option, and with so much community service she also can’t work or go back to school even if she wanted to so right now she’ pretty stuck, rory is clearly just very lost right now and I find it weird that lorelai didn’t try to understand and help her find her way back but the only thing she would accept is rory staying at yale even she had no motivation to do so, I love lorelai and I think she has good intentions and don’t disagree with all of it but I will never really like the way she handled this situation

I knew he would’ve waited until I moved out if I had said no. But there’s no shot I was going to be that selfish(even though i wasn’t thrilled & she wasnt the warmest) but if he hadn’t told me and I found out another way I’d be super upset too.
