I feel what makes h x h so is good is the way it subverts your expectations. Especially if you're used to shounen. H x H kinda throws all typical shounen troupes to the side. Tagashi is an amazing writer and I feel it comes through most in this next arc. Super looking forward to it.

I've found that Ruff is a lot better than most reactors at paying attention to the little details, remembering stuff and coming up with solid theories. Obviously, like everyone, he can forget details, but I've been very impressed so far and I do not doubt that he will be able to comprehend the Chimera Ant arc easily. My only fear is that he won't like its slow pacing.

I usually ask what are their favorite arcs and favorite series of other shows and what they like about them and get a clear picture. I do get annoyed when people who watch miss certain themes, concepts and messages of the show then complain that they don't have them.

It does, because it's super slow and a huge tonal difference and people hype it up so much. Despite hearing that it was apparently the greatest arc in shonen anime, it still exceeded my expectations big time, though. Hopefully he has the same experience.

Well, you said you don't want to be spoiled on what the future arcs are and how many there are, but you also asked how long the next arc is and it's 76-136, so unfortunately I'm assuming you can figure out which arc is next and how many arcs are left considering the anime is only 148 episodes long.

I don’t understand why people think Genthru is a bad villain but then praise the idea that HxH has characters in its world who only happen to cross paths with our mains. I think GI arc is very important and vital to how HxH became critically acclaimed. Anyone who trashes on GI are just little bitches in my eyes.

Arc lasts to episode 136. It’s the climax of the anime. If it’s not too late then you should avoid watching the intro and the outdo to this new arc it contains minor spoilers. Imo episodes 125 and 126 as well as 130 and 131 and 135 and 136 should be watched together. So just keep that in mind when blocking them together.

This arc is Chimera arc and will last almost the rest of the episodes. Just a warning it will feel like a different HxH. Amazing but very different. Buckle up for one hell of a ride.

And we're off to the Chimera Ant arc! Hope you enjoy this absolutely god-tier arc. All I'll say is pay close attention to character development. The arc focuses very heavily on the characters and the payoff for noticing those details is one of the main reasons why this arc is often considered to be the best in anime! It ends on episode 136 btw.

Greed Island is great, especially the dodgeball tournament, but it suffers from two things: one, Genthru is a lame villain. Compared to Razor even he's far less interesting, and certainly less interesting than the Phantom Troupe and the villains in the next arc. Speaking of those two, the other problem with Greed Island is that it comes right after and before two of the most legendary arcs in anime, and as a result is feels less important.
