I opened a BOOTH store where overseas fans can access without VPN, and VISA/MasterCard payments are accepted.

Expanded the contents of the 500 yen+ support plan to help sustain my creative activity.

Actually, I really want to start with a cheerful “Thank you for all the wonderful feedback!!”—and I truly mean it, thank you!

But at the same time, I’ve been receiving messages saying that more countries are now blocked from DLsite, and people want to buy but can’t access it…

As a creator, this is very serious, and for this release, it has unfortunately become my lowest launch numbers ever.

Of course, I also wondered if it’s just that my work wasn’t good enough…

To be honest, the moment I saw the numbers, I broke out in a cold sweat.

And even in my daily life, I can see how much prices and taxes in Japan keep skyrocketing. I imagine many people simply don’t have as much money left for entertainment.

On top of that, both DLsite and FANZA seem to have taken a hit since the credit card restrictions. They now run discount sales almost every week, shifting the burden onto creators… and I worry that “buying at full price” is starting to disappear.

If discount sales didn’t reduce my actual take-home, I’d happily join in.

But for example, if I join a 30% off sale, my income is also cut by 30%. Honestly, that hits my living expenses hard.

About BOOTH

To make it easier for overseas fans, and for those who only have VISA or MasterCard, I’ve opened a BOOTH store.

For now, I’ve kept the prices the same as DLsite and FANZA so that no one is disadvantaged.

But BOOTH takes a much lower fee (about 20%) compared to those two companies (around 50%).

If more people buy on BOOTH and I can shift my sales base there, I believe I can keep offering my work without raising prices, even with the current inflation.

Honestly, doujin prices haven’t changed in 20 years, and I’d love to say “it’s about time”… but with the Japanese economy as it is, that’s just not realistic.

I know from my commercial serialisation days that moving platforms is a hassle and most people dislike it, but if you can, I’d be grateful if you’d consider buying through BOOTH.

About support plans

I’ve expanded the contents of the 500 yen “Karaage Planからあげ弁当をおたべプラン.”

Now, for each new release, you’ll be able to download the new work through BOOTH (or via uploader distribution).

The 1000 yen plan has also been upgraded: you can now download works on both DLsite and BOOTH (or via uploader), and when I release games, those will also be included.

The reason for expanding the support benefits is that with inflation, I can’t simply raise the price of my works. Continued support helps stabilise my livelihood so I can keep creating.

Anyway, I don’t know what will happen with BOOTH in the future, but…

Above all, I just hope further restrictions on expression don’t spread worldwide. It’s really painful.

Since I’m transgender (GID) and physically weak, I don’t have the mental or physical strength to work outside. So for as long as I can, I’ll hold on and keep going with this.
