Speaking of sub, Ichiro Nagai, the voice actor for Netero, died of heart failure after the recording of episode 114, so Netero will be replaced by another voice actor the next time he appears.

2023-07-05 00:11:01 +0000 UTCseeing people make arguments in favor of the dub for this scene are laughable, and I'm not normally one to shit on dubs. I LOVE a lot of dubs that people don't like. But the casting for gon was so short sighted. They clearly had zero idea where the show was going tonally past the first episode and chose the most cookie cutter kids show type actor. She's fine when she's playing Ash, but only captures 10% of Gon's character at the best of times. This scene NEEDS to be watched in Japanese.

He never went through all the hellish training killua went through meaning his mental capacity is still the same as of a kid's. The tantrum he throws this episode is very similar to a tantrum a kid would throw when you refuse to gibe him your phone. Gon is mentally a kid. That's it thats all there is to it

"why cant you just be evil?" a lot of people interpet this scene as gon being a hypocrite and morally absurd but i think it was just that gon being frustrated that pitou was not the monster he was expecting, he was frustrated because what he wanted didn't happen... his tantrum is way much like that of a child's and that makes sense since you know... he is a child.... a lot of shonen series tend to overlook the fact that their protagonist's are children with often incomplete mental development. i like that hxh gives a child with the mentality of a child a buff body with supernatural abilities lol
