Love Netero's dastardly smirk when he knows he has him by offering the name, and additionally a way to repeat the hunter exam challenge of making someone surrender without killing them. Most casual or first time readers/viewers dont contemplate how Netero knows so much without being present (generally speaking), or think about how improbable it is that he could ever geuss Meruem had any interest whatsoever in what the queen he left for dead had to say about anything... but, since he was monitoring the palace and spying on convos earlier ,like in 108/102 via the eagle + nen, he heard Meruem asking the royal guard about his name. For those who wish to argue about the details, such as why the eagle attacks Komugi all the sudden (after Meruems Ren), its not something that can be resolved in short comments. Reddit and other fan forums have years worth of such debates, every topic being endlessly overanalyzed to exhaustion, short form and simplified arguments in comments isnt going to go anywhere productive, imo. I tend towards the idea that Meruems Ren was so intense that it simply overpowered the small efficient bit of nen Netero uses to watch through beasts, and the eagle acted on the feeling and intent Meruem had at that same moment within his aura. I dont believe Netero attacked Komugi with the eagle, tho some fans will argue he was testing meruem's reaction to Komugi being attacked, i find that far less probable. Rather, I tend to think Netero lost his connection with the eagle during Meruem's release of ren, thus didnt see the interaction with Komugi, otherwise he wouldnt have been surprised when he and Zeno arrived. Other fans argue that is a slight plothole according to Shalnarks battle with the manipulator ant, if we take their lines super literal and seriously and assume it applies in all cases ever... but i think such conditions have limits depending on the technique and nen involved. Netero was not using a condition based Hatsu, but rather a more simple and basic technique that happen to use some aura (perhaps basic manipulation nen) and meditation, and as the old adage goes ... 'good hunters well liked by animals, bla bla' Though again, such arguments about sublte details and headcanons cannot be resolved with objectivity, so its just my current prefered opinion, not a statement of fact by any means. I dont rly wanna argue about the topic again, years of arguing Hxh theories gets repetitive and exhausting, and short comment format is a poor place for decent discussion/debates in any case... everyone can decide their own headcanon ultimately.

If the King came back and said actually you can kill her Pitou would do it in a heartbeat.
