yeah for me it was kinda awkward or maybe just not well done where bocchis string broke and there was internal monologue and even the encouragement from the fans felt kinda underwhelming but overall i really loved this show and i actually really love the music that came from this show especially the full versions, hopefully you guys check out the bocchi the rock album soon

I agree with the concert feeling underwhelming, but I also think it's because of the same reason a lot of anime adaptations suffer when sticking the landing in their season finales, which is that they come from manga, a medium where the concept of season finales just doesn't exist.
When the author wrote the story and got to this part, she wasn't thinking "oh, this is gonna be the season 1 finale, so it has to be super climactic and close out the whole season", to her, it was just another one of many concerts throughout the story. That's also why the end of episode 8 might have felt more like a "finale". The problem was that there was not enough material before that concert to fill out 12 episodes, so it was put in episode 8 and the 12-episode-season closed with the school festival instead.
I think this is an important thing to remember when judging pacing in anime adaptations. They come from a medium in which pacing is felt and written in a fundamentally different way.
Anyway, great show regardless, and great reaction as always, glad to see you liked the show overall and waiting for that podcast discussion! :)
