2023-10-19 11:02:34 +0000 UTCThe censorship for the anime is pretty minimal but even at these early stages, certain restrictions were in place for more suggestive or gratuitous type material so you will see some scenes that have a little censorship here and there. It was definitely more prominent in the early parts of the anime.

2023-10-13 08:13:28 +0000 UTCYeah, Oda was definitely testing the waters as to what he could get away with drawing and writing in these earlier episodes. You'll definitely see him pushing the boundaries more and more as you keep watching. The scene where Buggy first used his powers made more sense in the manga, because they didn't show that scene where you see something invisible grab the pirate's neck. He just starts grabbing at his throat and floating upwards, and since he's clutching at his throat, he conveniently covers up what might be causing it. You'll also notice that in the following scenes, they avoid showing Buggy's right hand. I don't really understand why the anime added that scene, to be honest XD

It could have been but from the interviews I’ve seen, I think they changed it to having them captured to make it more high stakes. From my memory it’s the same in the manga. And even though there are some censored things, One piece can be very gruesome and have very dark subjects. Usually the few things they have censored are usually things from side characters or are scenes that aren’t that big. So don’t think that the anime censored a lot of the anime to the point that it’s different from the story of the manga. It’s not to the point that it changes the story completely or makes the stakes way less.

2023-10-13 03:19:28 +0000 UTCthe choking thing wasn't shown like that in Manga (Chapter 9) that made you guys think it's telekinesis or another power... it's prolly just the Anime made it transparent to make it bit mysterious because it happened before the somewhat-big reveal of Buggy's power when he fought Zoro
