I'm glad to see you mention the reverse colors that Shin and his brother have, it's such a small detail but made me happy. It's not explained in the anime but this world's races are based hair/eye color, like Alba in the republic are all white theme. Shin and Rei's parents are from two different groups (black and red), that's why the brothers have mixed colors.
