One Piece Eps 11 & 12 EARLY REACTION!

Comments

Dunno. Tbf I'm far from having watched it all. I'm finishing Alabasta and SPOILERS He still does that a lot. Like there are very good characters like Vivi but then you have Croc who I didn't like. Stereotypical villain with excessively convoluted plans who needs to kill you and will still give you a thousand chances to survive and got stupidly and very obviously conveniently nerfed for the plot. Double Finger wants to kill Nami, still will give her a thousand chances to live and warn her of her attacks every time she sneaks up on her. And it's hilarious how an explosion set on 20 min took like 12 eps of 20 min each to explode. Hadn't seen mess with the concept of time like that since DBZ and Namek. Dunno, OP has very good characters and make me cry sometimes with those brilliantly written backstories like Nami's then will have me rolling my eyes out of boredom and disbelief for episodes. So far at least. For the record, I still think it's an amazing show when it decides it's time to stop wasting mine though. Guess you can't avoid that with long running shows.

He really wants to write silly plot points and villains who will warn you a thousand times before killing you and scream "sneak attack!" before attacking so they don't catch you out of guard then sometimes I guess.

its crazy to think that because one piece is pretty consistent at staying number 1 in sales, or top 3, to this day that oda may be the only mangaka that is truly free to write what he wants. Even kishimoto and kubo for naruto and bleach were rushed to finish on time (kubo also has health issues). If oda wants to expand an arc he is making by an extra 20 chapters, no one is gonna stop him. The freedom really shows in his writing later as well. He truly writes what he wants which works

Yeah you may have a point there about the manga publication becoming a bit more popular and gaining more notoriety amongst its readers after 6 months of being in serialization. Why else do we have so many one shots? Because those are manga that have tried and failed. Tv series are kind of the same way. I can see the Live action even improving in S2 now that the writers, directors and producers know that it was a massive hit. They potentially might even order twice as many episodes. Also yeah I can see how the LA did not want to include Don Krieg but they also removed probably one of luffy's most tense battles yet.

we're in baratie now and its very noticeably better writing. Still more juvenile shonen level with Don Kreig blatantly being a power-scaling tool, but still much more impactful in terms of stakes and action. And with foreshadowing on multiple fronts as well. Big noticeable difference in writing quality. Probably because the manga made it about 6 months in publication and was relatively safe by this point making it past the first few arcs. So there was more faith put into it by the editors (im just guessing, but this is what usually happens with manga publications so idk)

Its suprising to me, it feels like oda's writing just dramatically improves from these very early moments, like arlong park arc and baratie arc were handled more consistency and the execution of the scenes where the logic behind it made alot more sence. As you continue into OP this becomes pretty apparent in later arcs as well like the arbabasta saga. Its one of those rare situations where out of the big 3, one piece probably starts out the weakest but eventually evolves into something with so much more complexities, moving pieces and clever writing the deeper you get into it.

I agree the plot is stupid and unnecessary at times. For me sometimes it's charming, sometimes excessive like how villains here will give the evil speech instead of killing a lot but it has its gold moments and writing too, as you already expect from the LA. Of course it doesn't get it from anywhere. A bit of a mixed bag but when it's good, it's really good.

Jesus, that goat's got a gun!

Hey loved the reaction. Kuro’s trying to avoid the marines and become rich. He doesn’t want any record of witnesses so if he kills the entire town and then says “oh I was away from the town” he can get away with it and have no loose ends.
