2023-11-06 07:07:56 +0000 UTCI think this used to be a stage in the ps2 fighting game one piece grand battle I used to play as a kid it was hype

2023-11-06 06:34:11 +0000 UTC- slight spoiler - Seeing this in this early part of the story and then seeing current events in the manga and anime, this hits so different now, jeesus goda!!

2023-11-05 19:05:09 +0000 UTCKreig is probably the very definition of a power scaling tool and that was kind of his only purpose in the story. To show the gap between mihawk and a regular wanabee pirate that got destroyed by the horrors of the grand line. I felt that black cats Kura was more interestly written and his goal actually meant something. How ever i did like the battle with Kreig though and getting to see Sanji's perspective on luffy was interesting. But Compared to arlong which is a much better written character, it’s no contest and all the villains there after have strong objectives, weightier ambitions and greater relevance to the overall OP story.

2023-11-05 18:08:26 +0000 UTCYeah, I feel the same way. Hopefully they see this and decide to make that change. I forgot that minus the fillers, it’s really only a few eps.

2023-11-05 17:37:17 +0000 UTCThat’s what I thought. I wonder if it might be a bit redundant to do both, but I guess I depends on how they approach it.

2023-11-05 13:45:06 +0000 UTCIt's such a relief that Don Krieg was defeated, and it was heartwarming to see Ghin play a crucial role in taking him down. It's quite symbolic for someone who claims to have very little time left to express a desire for a fresh start, which resonated deeply with Sanji. It's like he's trying to repay his debt to Zeff for saving him, even though he's inadvertently doing the opposite by staying. Oh, and just a quick note, Nami mentioning the name "Bell-mère" at the end is a reference to her mother. It might have been mentioned a couple of times in the live-action adaptation, but her limited screen time made it easy to miss. Nami's tearful longing to be free always tugs at my heartstrings.

2023-11-05 13:43:46 +0000 UTCI think doing the discussion after that short (missing) arc would be better since it's only like 5 episodes anyway + a better stopping point for the podcast episode imo

2023-11-05 11:12:27 +0000 UTCThey are probably unaware of the fact that the live action didn't quite make it to the end of the saga, but they did mention they are going to do a full end of saga retrospective where they give their thoughts and review of the entire saga from the anime series.

2023-11-05 09:23:01 +0000 UTCThe best arc is coming up. From this point on, the villians become so much more interesting.

2023-11-05 09:05:33 +0000 UTC28 was a bit of a snooze lol but it's good to see Don Krieg finally dealt with. I'm super keen to see how you find the differences in the Arlong arc, between the anime and LA Oh btw you guys forgot to edit the episode out of this one. Same with the sound 😁

2023-11-05 08:49:32 +0000 UTCNice end to the Baratie arc. I also had the “please, no more!” reaction when Don Kreig regained consciousness, but glad they didn’t draw it out any longer. Question: will y’all be doing a live action comparison video at the end of Arlong and an end-of-saga video at the end of East Blue? Just curious as the would be only a one arc gap between the two.
