Even if the Garp reveal isn't going to be as shocking to them in the anime, a lot of people who say this seem to forget that in the same conversation in the anime, another HUGE thing gets revealed. The Garp part of the reveal in the anime isn't going to lessen the shock value of that episode AT ALL.

2023-11-20 04:02:55 +0000 UTCYou mean 46-47 its only two episodes and its based off cover material illustrated by oda. 54-55 is also considered partial canon because it’s an integral part of the world building and should not be skipped. 56-60 is your pure straight filler that can be skipped.

2023-11-19 22:31:11 +0000 UTCAlso I think in the LA they protray garp as this individual that is just far to engrossed in luffy's journey and a little bit to connected to his early ongoing adventures, like that is all that matters to him in life is capturing him. The writers forget that the OP world is huge and every character has their experiences, history with past events, motivational ambitions and things they want to accomplish that have nothing to do with luffy. Its not all necessarly tied to the MC and I think in terms of the story, it makes more sence to introduce garp later. Its like some fans have this weird thing about shanks being the one to finally encounter luffy when he becomes a great pirate as if thats his sole purpose and final goal, but of course through time you find out shanks is far more connected to many other characters and orgnizations then just luffy. The LA needs to be able to write the individuality of these characters and not have them all act like luffy is the center of the world.

2023-11-19 17:24:09 +0000 UTCIn the LA they introduce Garp so early and when you get to the relationship revealed in around episode 300 it will not be as a shock as us who read the manga and watch the anime first before the LA. Also if ya are not watching filler arcs ya can skip episode 54-61. Ep 62 started a new arc. There are some filler arcs that are fun to watch.
