Still the most awkward filler moment in all of One Piece, probably, being shoved into an important canon scene like that. It's really hard to find accurate maps of the One Piece world, and I don't recommend searching either, considering spoilers. But yeah, Reverse Mountain connects all the other four seas through canals like the Strawhats went through.

Guy watched 8 live action and 50 anime episodes about making it to the Grand Line and once he's there they thought they went from the East to West Blue. Also wanted to add things like fog you saw in the live action and the borealis you saw in the 3rd ending can be used as excuses as to why following the sun & stars can still get you lost in the Grand Line.
