The drum mountain and cherry blossom cloud making up what looked like a tree is one of my favorite moments, it also turned out Oda improvised it later into the arc.

It's long enough to forget but don't go worrying about the hints you might of ran into on the way. The catching up process is difficult with people even going as far wearing merch with spoilers. Even if you saw Chopper around you sure didn't know what the hell he was. I've met people who start the series half way through, love the little guy enough to get plushies, and don't even know the story of Hiriluk. Personally I think it's fine you've seen a little bit farther ahead because you haven't recognized some seeds that have been narratively planted for future crew members already.
