Arabasta sounds quite similar to Arabia so not far off & design-wise at least he was mostly inspired by India for this island (the onion things at the top of buildings, such as on the Taj Mahal, are typical for Mughal architecture). Though you usually mostly see people bringing up Egypt and the Middle East...so yeah Oda references quite a few different cultures/countries in this arc (what was left of Yuba f.e. was inspired by the Great Mosque of Djenné in Mali, Africa)

11:20 actually the horses which are know for their endurance and the ability to handle long distances are the Arabian horses. which I think that this horse is based on, but maybe I'm wrong because Alabasta is based on Ancient Egypt.

34:22 I think that would make it even worse. If they saw the enemy army marching towards their princess, they probaly would shoot every cannon they have to try to protect her.

Nico Robin saved Luffy, that explains why Igaram is alive. Notice they first made you confused about her motives and doubt her loyalty to crocodile befora showing he's alive.
