Welp, I gotta say, kudos to them for not cliffing us on something dumb again huh lol. The snake fight was very good tho.

2024-02-04 21:32:45 +0000 UTCTo be fair I don't think Jinwoo was chosen for any specific reason other than he was the only one left in the circle, I wholeheartedly believe that if everyone had stayed in the circle they all would've been chosen to be a "player" and given the ability to level up. That was the reward for clearing the dungeon and following the rules, having faith and staying in the circle meant you clear the dungeon

2024-02-04 04:56:53 +0000 UTCRegarding the use of medieval weapons over modern weapons, I do agree with Carson in that it's just because it's cool but there is an in world reason too. In the first episode the narrator mentioned that regular bullets do nothing to the monsters. Also I would assume that the reason why magical bullets are not a thing is because they are expensive to make and pretty much a one-time use thing (the anime mentioned that magical items are made using the essence stones that drop from monsters which is why the stones are super valuable). Imagine if each magical bullet costs like 50 grand to make, that's 50 grand going down the drain every time you shoot. So regular people can't even afford them. Also, as a hunter when you run out of magical bullets in a dungeon you are then fucked. So might as well grab a melee weapon that is more durable and could potentially last longer. Another thing is that in this episode they introduce that there are different positions for hunter such as tank, damage dealer, healer etc. which we can assume, means that hunters also get different types of abilities that requires specific types of weapons (such as how the tank was able to have a magical barrier over the shield) so there's no point in just grabbing a gun if your abilities don't support them.

I wonder if the creatures have internal stats so if you only have like 10 strength against something that has 32 defense or something you clearly wont be able to damage it like with the golem. So I'm assuming regular hunters have their own internal base stats when they first awaken and then a flat boost in their stats if they have a 2nd awakening.

2024-01-31 02:04:46 +0000 UTCI think they briefly mentioned it in episode one that conventional weapons had no effect on the monsters. It was to be a weapon with mana used to deal damage. I guess the guns are to keep the citizens back LMAO
