honestly i LOVE the talk about shigure and akito XD like, i read the manga so long ago, and i remember liking shigure because of his character design/looks and him being an author, and hes funny right? but man. the older i get the more i dislike his character so much XD hes so awful!! so selfish and unchanging, loving to manipulate and toy with peoples feelings... i have a sh*t list and akitos mother ren is number one, but shigure has to be number two lol after that its kyos father, its a nice top 3 :D as much as i dislike akito as well, i wish she got to move on from shigures bs, what an amazing conclusion that wouldve been!! and kurenos whole insta love arc and him having s*x with akito when she was a minor just like shigure did ( that little flash back scene where he held her up in his arms as a child stil makes me barf btw) also really irks me like...you couldve said no. "bond" or not, just say you cant because shes a child!!even IF akito pressured him or whatever, that was just such a red flag from kureno. im just so happy rin didnt forgive akito, like its just wierd how they all try to pretend nothing happend, she almost killed three people XD ugh. but yeah ren and shigure can burn in hell for all i care they are so so awful^^ i was such a naive child when i first read the manga...i hope since shigure and akito got a son that akito is a boymom bwahahaha that would annoy shigure to no end. be strong child, your parents suck but life can only get better!hang in there!!XD also yes the "mastermind" plan of shigure was basically 1) be awful and get rid of ppl in akitos life and watch everything fall apart and the 2) swoop in and have her for himself XD he did get that done in a way but hatoris omnious "your plan is working" is just such a joke when you know there wasnt really much going on besides shigure being the piece of sh*t he always was/will be XD

It is actually used to give more information and levels to Kakeru's character and his relationship with Yuki. It does feel out of nowhere when you just get the information that they are connected since in the anime they cut all the scenes of Kakeru, his girlfriend and a lot of the student council "outside the school" moments (which also contributed for the Yuki - Machi relationship being not that much explored).

2024-10-28 14:46:06 +0000 UTCYour Shigure talk and slander was really validating LMAO yeah, while Akito grows and has more potential to grow and improve as a character, Shigure was a whole load of a lot of things, but also a load of nothing. It felt like it was leading up to some big plan of his, but then the episode came out and it turned out his whole thing was “I don’t have any plans for the curse because it’s breaking down on its own, my real plan is to swoop in and get my girl after everything is over” after being basically one of if not THE biggest catalysts of Akito’s suffering/behavior, and their relationship still has a lot of mixed reviews to this day in the fandom LOL. Super entertaining, yeah, but also toxic as hell. I don’t know how they managed to have a pretty perfectly fine and decent child in the sequel (male, by the way which is funny when Shigure mentioned he doesn’t want any sons). Oh, and Yuki was planning to tell Machi about the curse since he realized his feelings for her—it just happened to break RIGHT as he was going to talk about it, which is why he was like “this isn’t how I wanted this to go, but oh well”.

I kinda like that there’s such a toxic/weird couple and I don’t feel like it’s presented as an ideal or anything but I also agree with what you guys said, I don’t really like either of them as people but it’s kinda entertaining. I’d welcome a longer discussion even if you have unpopular opinions!

2024-03-28 05:18:04 +0000 UTCI have to say, this episode makes me genuinely ugly sob no matter how many times, no matter what situation. I lost my mom 2.5 years ago and she also died in a car accident, same exact situation as Tohru's mom. I just can't handle the monologue thinking it could've been the same for my mom :( BUT I believe that scene also makes up for the horrid writing done during the Shigure and Akito mess.
