I'm so late to say this but the reason it feels so weird why Despa wasn't coming, then he was, but they were there earlier in the morning and ??? Is because the anime completely changed the order of events compared to the manga. Originally, Bojji and Kage left alone and the Knights found him on their way to the Bosse kingdom and decided to give them a ride.
