I think so. He already told Thorfinn that killing is absolutely wrong no matter what, but everything about changing who you are, repenting for what you've done, living with your sins and not forgetting, are all things he could have meant. But I think another possibility is that you can still fight to protect the things you believe in, it just doesn't forgive the fighting. Its still sinful to kill, but your soul becomes a sacrifice to protect your beliefs. I'm thinking that's what he still wanted to tell him. But I'm not sure. I think we might see more about that when the time comes.
