One Piece Episode 425 UNCUT REACTION!

Oh... that movie promo is next. Makes me realise this must have aired not incredibly long after time I'd caught up to the manga then. Also means soonish we should be heading into sections of the story which really finally won me over & made me more than a casual fan of the manga. Very nostalgic!

The thing you guys need to really know is that EPISODE 0 is CANON to the MANGA. Elements from the film could contradict events of the story in the future, which could be set up in episode 0; this is why the film is not considered manga canon even though oda wrote it. Strong World is an ORIGINAL story that was written by Oda to celebrate One Piece's 10th anniversary, which is different compared to previous One Piece films where he only supplied character designs and approved certain ideas for a story. This time he wrote the script entirely.  People have recommended watching episode 0 prior to the film, but only because episode 0 is a promotional piece that acts as a prelude for the movie Strong World. The 4 episode specials are also set up to be a prequal tie-in to the film.

im sure a dozen people will let you know that Shiki is a legit canon character in the story but he's also a filler character for the movie that released around this time. its weird pseudo canon stuff

Sanji Joestar posted a comment on here already clarifying this a bit but I figured I would just weigh in as well. Shiki is a canon character, his introduction is related to the filler but he is a part of the canon One Piece world. There seems to be confusion about when it is safe to watch certain things. The movie "One Piece Film: Strong World" is technically currently safe for you guys to watch, however, there is a later special episode called "One Piece Film Strong World: Episode 0" which is an OVA adaptation of a special manga chapter "Chapter 0" which acts as a lead in or prequel to that movie. This special episode, "Episode 0" is currently not safe for you to watch and it has spoilers for the end of the movie at the very beginning so its sort of confusing to navigate. The Episode 0 OVA is also very hard to find right now. It had a release on YouTube in 2023 where you could watch it for free to celebrate its English dub but I cant find an official release anywhere anymore. Episode 426-429 are all filler that is related to this movie release, you can either watch them now or when you watch the stuff related to the movie, its up to you. All of this to say, its not time to watch Episode 0 yet, we'll help you navigate that stuff when it comes time for you to watch it. Feel free to reach out if you're still unclear on anything.

To keep the momentum of this arc, I vote you skip the filler episodes. And you can always come back to watch them before the movie, if you do decide to watch some of the OP movies after you’re caught up with the series.

People are recommending the movie Strong World It's related to Shiki In order i suggest watching the filler arc from 426 - 429 Corrected: Then you wait to finish this saga before watching the Movie and then watch Episode 0

Shiki is a canon character that exists. Strong World is just a movie, but Strong World Episode 0 is a canon prequel short.

Just in case you plan to watch the 18-min OVA for Movie #10 that everyone's talking about here, it is called "One Piece Film: Strong World Episode 0" (2010), and not to be confused with the Specials (= ep426-429) that were also made for the movie PS: "Episode 0" is canon, since it adapts "Chapter 0", which is a prequel / special chapter that Oda wrote

Yeah Carson, Sanji snapping the neck of that unlucky in cold blood just to bamboozle Crocodile on the snail call is one of my favorite highlights. Shiki lore!!! EDIT: I was gonna ask if you guys would be willing to react to One Piece episode 0 before you start the next arc. But upon further inspection, it has some mild spoilers that it would be better if you postponed reacting to it until a few arcs later.

I guess one upside to Toei refusing to adapt the manga cover stories is that first time viewers get to stay in the dark on who and what to expect in this arc.

Golden Lion Shiki is pirate that was showed in movie, but there was line about him in manga, so kinda he is canon material, but details about him you can learn only in movie, that can't be called real canon.
