One Piece Episode 477 UNCUT REACTION!

Comments

crazy yall didn't pick up on mr.3 lol

Astro_Naughty

For a criminal no

死亡 感官

Sometimes the systems and traditions we uphold get in the way of what needs to be done, but this is just how things are

SomeoneElse

True, but still, it's a workable excuse overall to stall time

Jack Shadow

what if in real life, the victim or closely related to the victim have an option to kill the convicted that's already sentenced to death? and also on livestream? that would be fun

josephocenada

This conversation reminded me of how Igaram - (i mean Mah Mah Maaaah.. Mister 8) - mentioned that the Navy reduces bounty by 30% when the criminal is brought in dead. Because they favor public executions instead.

Sanji Joestar

Yeah man, im having the same problems...im gonna look into getting it since you gave a good feedback about it

boredbeck

Thats great im sure you'll enjoy them they're fun and give some context.

Paragohn

Classic tall person experience: always getting the short end of the stick… the world is so cruel to us…

BOLDcast

We got a whole list from Our Discord server Maybe I’ll make a post with it so people can see what our plans are. If you want to be in on the conversation though, I’d recommend linking your discord in your patreon account, you’ll get added to the server automatically

BOLDcast

I mean he’s already sentenced lol Which is the better outcome, assuming they can’t do it the way they planned?: A) blow his brains out B) Let Luffy take him away because your special headsmen dudes were late from their lunch break. What I mean is, if they are THAT committed to those guys doing it, to the point that they won’t do it if they aren’t there. Then why are we even fighting other people? Just snipe the handful of headsmen and their replacements. DONE! Sengoku: “Welp. Guys l, we can’t serve justice now, our special headsmen are dead and there’s no other way we can kill him. Too bad so sad. Whitebeard, it was a good show, but you win. EVERYONE WITHDRAW WE LOST HERE”

BOLDcast

I guess it is kind of a cultural difference as well. Japan seems to put more emphasis on the ritual of executions than western culture do. They aren’t stone him or caning him in the street, or tar and feathering him for example

BOLDcast

Yeah possibly I was more talking about the topic of how much lifespan Luffy would've lost with Iva's help here, which isn't affected by this injection.

Sanji Joestar

We got a whole list Check the one piece spoiler discord channel. I’m not in it, but I hear from ChocoBoshi that the list was compiled there. I just got the list today

BOLDcast

Exactly They’re trying to change it from the inside sort of thing.

BOLDcast

Yeah I healed pretty well. I’m a bit tender still, but mostly finished healing. I didn’t even need to take the medication they gave me I just took Tylenol and NyQuil/dayquil I had nasal drip and tonsil stones and chronic tonsillitis, so yeah the surgery made sense for me. And even right after the surgery, my sense of smell actually got better and I could breathe better through my nose. We’ll see how the coming weeks are, but I’m really happy I got it done. Was worth it.

BOLDcast

Yeah I don’t expect it to heal whitebeard, but it might give the extra juice he needs to finish the battle

BOLDcast

I mean in terms of the warzone they are in right now, I think the method becomes less important It’s a really thin excuse to not just kill him

BOLDcast

It’s already an execution though. Whether they hang him, shoot him, stab him, behead him, lethal inject him, it’s still an execution. He’s a convicted criminal sentenced to death not an innocent civilian. So in terms of the law it would be an execution not matter the ritual.

BOLDcast

The executioners are necessary for it to be an execution. Otherwise it's just murder.

Gobbo

Movie 6, Movie 10 and maybe the Monsters ova

Lūthér Hölâyèãhmé

Ok thanks mods 👌

Solas

There not fodder, the simplistic character designs make you think that, but thats only because there not formally introduced characters in the story yet. They are all captains of their own respective crews just like whitey bay, McGuy, and Doma.

Artemis

The beginning discussion about Garp and justice in regards to seeing the buster calls and everything else really reminds me of what Doflamingo said a few episodes ago that hits the nail on the head for me "Justice will triumph, you say? Of course it will! Because the winners will become justice" It's often the window dressing justification for whatever you do. When you support someone else's (the Navy's) justice, it comes with all the strings attached.

FoxfireEspresso

I find it wildly insane that those whitebeard fodder were able to easily defeat the Pacifistas while luffy and the crew were struggling to defeat just one. Goes to show what kind of level the new world is on

Orange cookies

Speaking about the execution, in terms of morals, if some criminal was sentenced to death, it wouldn't be better just to shoot him down because you will just murder him, while if you let him be executed, that wouldn't be something that can be called murder.

Jack Shadow

When Ace asks Garp about whether he should have been born, his response seems almost heartless(tho i like it) but in a way he knows it's realistic. Telling him "Of course you do" would have been good, tho naive, for his own sense of worth, at the moment. But the rest of the world would still let him feel like trash for a father he didn't even choose. Telling him instead it's something he had to figure out made him seek an answer at the very least instead of concluding there's nothing worth it for this life.

Sanji Joestar

Not to mention that the Navy propaganda is fueling itself. The main public might not see it, but the Navy soldiers are also part of those that get influenced by the system to believe in it even more. Some of these marines have families outside of the war's context for example. I bet they'd be very pumped to tell the tales of how Ace, Roger's son, was killed the same way his dad was and they were there to witness it.

Sanji Joestar

Iva injected Luffy with Tension Hormones, those give him extra energy but with damages later. They're different from the Healing Hormones that use lifespan to help heal. That's why Iva didn't use them on Inazuma and instead let him rest. So, so far Luffy only lost 10years of his life(crazy thing to say lol)

Sanji Joestar

Remember mr3 saw them pass by him 🤷🏽‍♂️but that was a couple episodes ago

Dead Pool619

Monkey D. Lucci

They will love movie six

ignorantWeed

I second episode 0.

Mister Kap

The mods will guide them don’t worry

Ty

Welcome back bro, hope youre feeling better 🙏 I was also thinking of getting tonsillectomy since I hate developing tonsil stones and nasal drip (and sleep apnea)...I gotta say I'm surprised I thought it would change your voice or something lol

boredbeck

While you can criticize Garp for being part of such a terrible organization like the world government, what the World Government needs to ever improve is MORE people like Garp, I. E. Koby.

Will.Har310

Your voice sounds good Carson.

Nicolas LeBlanc

Nice to see you guys again! Glad to see ya healed up Carson

Vlee

Don’t watch the side content right after Marineford is over theres still important content for you guys to watch to keep the momentum of the story going. There’s a good spot to watch all that stuff but I can’t say too much yet to avoid spoilers. Good to see y’all back!

Solas

We just need sbs, cover story and episode 0. The movies are not worth watching yet until the next one coming up.

Sonicluis

Krykee

Welcome back glad you feeling better!

Invert Zeth

WELCOME BACK CARSON glad your all healed up buddy

Clockwerk9000

In Garp’s defense, he knows how powerful the marines/WG is and that he couldn’t possibly fight them alone (if he tried saving both ace and luffy) so the only way forward for him is to “challenge” Luffy He would never go all out on him so if he can just hold Luffy back, he can potentially save one of his grandkids instead of potentially losing both of them at the same time He was definitely just going to stall Luffy the entire time if they actually fought It’s kinda terrible that he’s willing to sacrifice ace but he sees Ace’s execution as a forgone conclusion: it’s inevitable. As long as Ace is alive, the marines and world government will try to kill him and Ace already proved that he’s the type of person that would get caught doing some “dumb” shit like fighting Blackbeard or fighting for Whitebeard’s honor The world views Ace as a ticking timebomb that WILL explode. The marines, wg, AND the entire world view his execution as the end of Roger’s reign. If he dies, his death WILL FOR CERTAIN usher in a new era for the world regardless of how it occurs

Coqnbauz

YES THEY ARE BACK

UltimaJosh

THEY ARE BACK!!!

Naser Alnuwaiem

The reason the Marines are waiting upon the official executioners to kill Ace is for multiple reasons. Ace's main importance to the Marines is as 1) bait to draw in Whitebeard and 2) to die as a symbolic end to Roger's legacy. To maximize the benefits of (2), they want to end Ace's life in the same way they ended Roger's, while also killing off one of their biggest threats, Whitebeard, as a show of power and authority to hopefully end the current great pirate age that Roger's death started. Executions have also always historically been a show of state power, and the ceremony, ritual, and dutiful authority of it has always been an extension of that. There's a huge difference between taking a captured criminal to the town square and knifing them in the back versus ushering the criminal to a platform, reading out his crimes to the public, then having the executioner kill them with the guillotine. Even if the snails broadcasting everything is currently off, it's very hard to maintain a cover-up and lie at this scale. There are hundreds of thousands, if not millions of witnesses. The Marines weren't even able to fully cover up the Ohara incident, and that was maybe 1/100th the scale of this.

excel

spot on, and it's not just like that in the Navy in One Piece but also a historical fact. In the middle ages for example, executions were the job of the executioner/hangman, if something happened to him in let's say a brawl or something whilst the execution was going on, the priest (who was there to take up any last confessions) wouldn't just take up the ax of the executioner and kill the convict, as it wasn't his profession, same with soldiers guarding the execution. They wouldn't just storm up the scaffold and kill the convict. This is not only about saving face and credibility, the whole execution process has always been (in One Piece or in the real world) a tradition, a process that had to be performed in line with protocol (even bordering on the sacred in many cultures). It's simply not Sengoku's position, profession or even his interest to be the one who executes Ace, as that is and will always be (in a ceremonial execution) the job of the executioner.

Sakarael

Glad to see you back guys. You sound great Carson. Whitebeard really was the stabilizing scale there, the guy could sneeze only for the entire battlefield to falter.

EOussama

Welcome back guys! I hope you recovered well Carson

Devil_pls

Ayye welcome back, glad the surgery went well! So this flashback with Ace here was a lot deeper into the arc than I initially thought, but earlier in the arc Garp decided to insensitively guilt trip Ace for choosing to be a pirate over a marine like he always asked him to. Personally I feel like that was a pretty naive and selfish thing to say to Ace especially in this situation. As you saw in this episode, Roger has a downright abysmal reputation amongst the general public. Largely due to the Marines treating Roger like the devil incarnate for years now. Of course not everyone in the world holds negative opinions about Roger, but far too many do which unfortunately kept Ace constantly surrounded by nothing but scorn and vitriol over his dad's infamous name. If Ace had actually followed Garp's advice and enlisted into the Marines, he would probably never feel truly accepted there. As the child of Roger he'd either be severely ostracized Naruto style, or used as a propaganda tool for the Government, or maybe even both. I understand Garp's grief, but the path he wanted for Ace would have made him even more miserable than he already was imo. Sure being a pirate has led him here facing execution, but at least for a while he had a loving home. The kind he could likely never have as a Marine just because of his bloodline. All that being said, this type of conflict is exactly why I love Garp as a character. He's very fascinating to me.

100Rainy

the reason they do it that way for the execution is that they are the navy they have protocole and rule to follow, not following them would reduce their credibility in the eye of the regular marine, and even if the camera are off, the regular soldier would talk about it and it would spread afterward. the marine care a lot about their image.

millecamps

Welcome back! Hope you are feeling better

Jeremy Brooks

Is Luffy stronger than Rayleigh?

Matthew Gilroy

I mean real life people who are really tall don’t live as long and whitebeards like 20 feet tall and fully human so maybe that’s what did it?

Extra Crispy

Yessir we back

Random

Imagining luffy and the whitebeard pirates fighting past the whole navy the 7 warlords the admirals and garp only for sengoku to coldly blow aces brains out right in front of them is the darkest funniest thing ever; it absolutely has me cracking up welcome back guys 😂.

Extra Crispy

When it comes to the "side-content": are you planning on looking at the cover-stories? They are canon, and pretty important at times

GloriousDawn

Fun fact, Whitebeard has just aged poorly, he's younger than both Garp and Sengoku.

Envyus

its a good idia to go throuth the sidecontent, cuz theres so much greatness

Double_P94

It would probably be better to do the next arc as well and then stop for the side stuff. No spoilers but it would be better to have for the discussion and such.

literallywho

The stuff with Shiki is part of an OVA called Episode 0.

Envyus

Wow what timing. I just opened patreon the moment this was uploaded

DenifClock
