Aokiji barely interacted with Whitebeard. He was pretty laid back throughout the whole war. Wasn't really in it. Kizaru interacted with him only a couple times to troll and catch him off guard Akainu was the only Admiral to actually exchange blows. Akainu actually wanted Whitebeard dead. Probably because he is a marine through and through. Kizaru and Aokiji, we know are far more nuanced

(which I will say is also partly wrong) If we were just to verify everything that has not happened yet, some of their ideas and predictions would already be validated by us giving yes/no answers and therefore it defeats the purpose of experiencing one piece fresh without any prior knowledge. This is a type of story that is best understood by putting together every piece of the puzzle that oda drops and forming a larger picture as those pieces start to align.

I don't know if its an anime only thing but I've always sort of related the two seagulls to Luffy and Ace's will to be free (as birds). I'm sure the feather is just a pretty visual representing the will being passed on and not something super deep but to me they're sort of related.

One of the best episodes made ever and not just in One Piece. A small note about Whitebeard's back, he might be shown with no scars there but he still didn't receive one directly from the back and, like the narrator says, not from running away. And let me just say Whitebeard's VA absolutely killed it this arc. What an amazing performance. His epic speech at the end deserved no less.

Why is it that fan translated groups were able to be more accurate and authentic to the Japanese manga, but officials cannot. Historic moments like these need an accurate interpretation so boldcast can understand exactly what is spoken since it’s such an important line. so, thanks for posting.

Luffy didn't know what he'd expect when he went in Impel Down, he still pulled it off. His arrogance and recklessness especially when he thinks he got the upper hand being his weaknesses makes it so satisfying. When he targeted Luffy he didn't know he was related to Ace, he failed to capture him and laughed it off. Targeted him again and instead got Ace this time. Wasn't his intent but definitely created a war that would benefit him. Even his invasion of Impel down is facilitated by the Navy's focus on the incoming battle. And he almost died meeting Magellan lmao. The dynamic between our main protagonist and him keeps subtly ramping up!!!

Like his fruit made him take more damage and more pain than before he ate it, it made him physically 'weaker' by comparison. It's a really cool dynamic I really like that Blackbeard is not some genius mastermind but just some reasonably smart power hungry pirate with a good plan. He gets in over his head sometimes and takes a few hits. It humanises him which I think is really cool. I've seen enough Bleach Naruto with their perfect god-like villains who have everything planned out since episode 1. They were cool, I liked them a lot, but I think the cliche-ness of that would have done more harm than good for me in One Piece. I'm glad this story is doing its own thing. Its refreshing.
