I feel it's one of the worst timings in terms of disconnect with the main story's mood, just after seeing Luffy's despair. Generally though if you want take breaks more frequently to watch movies, read cover stories or watch fillers you have a right to watch whatever you like after all and some of that stuff is really interesting and gives extra lore (cover stories specifically). I always skip the filler stuff because I can't be bothered, and the characters in them usually don't interest me. Anyway those of us who don't care about filler can always return to watch if/when you get back to what we care about. If you feel pressured into just going forward you probably won't enjoy the show as much. Plus I'm sure some of your Patreon members WILL care and even be glad for your reactions to the filler stuff.

You are years away from getting caught up so please do not feel the pressure to go fast and burn out. Most of us fans have had years or even decades to watch all of one piece. Its unfair to expect reactors to go as quickly as possible and skip over every filler arc (especially when the reactor has enjoyed the filler)

2025-03-06 21:40:09 +0000 UTCI always thought Garp left luffy with Dadan because that was the only place to hide Ace and in giving Ace someone like Luffy he was trying to give him someone to be at his side a person he could rely on. While at the same time giving luffy a glimpse into how the other side lives, giving him a more rounded perspective to make him a more just marine, or in a best case scenario scare him out of pursuing that kind of life.

We mourned Ace's death in Marineford because of what he meant to Luffy. Now we get to mourn the death of Ace as we begin to learn who he was. It's a gut punch that could never work unless it was written this way. An intentional, subversive, and effective writing technique from Oda. Oda's writing goes beyond just "vibes". Bravo to the man👏🏽
