When ace died you guys still held out hope, and even after the war still held out hope they would reunite in '3 days' on sabaody. Now that you know that the strawhats never came, how do you like how Oda handled it and would you have changed anything

1. I know you've technically met him before during the Skypiea arc, but I would more or less consider the Battle of Marineford as being Doflamingo's official introduction because this is where he starts to really show the type of person he is and what his worldview could possibly be. Even scenes where he's not really speaking and observing from the side or scenes where he's seemingly roaming around the battlefield chatting with the people he's technically been ordered to kill rather than fighting with them says a lot about his character imo. In a series with so many villains with such clearly defined goals, what do you think of the introduction of a villain that purely just seems to be chaos for the sake of chaos? Do you like characters like that or no? One Piece is already a pretty chaotic series as is with a lot of different power systems constantly fighting with each other - do you think the series could benefit from a character like that? Do you think he could add some necessary "spice", if you will? 2. Law said something pretty interesting right after handing Luffy off to Rayleigh: he referenced the Will of D. again, and seemed to imply he was interested in keeping track of Luffy because of that. Do you think that's why he got himself involved or does Law strike you as a "chaos for the sake of chaos" type of character just like Doflamingo?

How do you feel about that trope in the context of a war arc like Marineford? Powerful characters stand around, seemingly waiting for their turn to be cool, but you can kind of understand why when their attacks could wipe out their own forces. As a follow-up, is there any character you believe held back for personal reasons as opposed to narrative besides Garp?

With this arc we learned just how smart and calculated Blackbeard is, he went into impel down when they were weak and recruited the strongest pirates there, he didn’t join the war until he was certain he could kill whitebeard and get his fruit.
