This isn't the place to talk about future events and despite this we can't go more than a few comments without bringing them up. I only talk here because the majority of the people posting spoilers' refusal to join discord where we could more openly talk about what is and is not ok to post here.

Usually whenever someone says an arc is inconsequential, that just means they were so bored watching the arc and so ready to move past it, they don’t give it much thought afterwards.

So it's in the Paradise half of Grand Line. Shanks and Whitebeard's meeting took place in the New World.
