I would agree with you if i didnt rewatched season 1 just from looking at reaction on youtube at least 10 times all 24 episodes and obviously i cant say for all the moments cuz some are more dull and repetitive frames like u said, mediocre cgi etc but when moments are important even in less apparent scenes, u can see something more. In ep1 Isagi's scream and the "you're it" game, bachira's shenanigans, even bachira monster from episode 2, baros first goal, kunigami first goal, niko vs isagi, Gagamaru jumping around, Chigiri's moments, Bachira's solo goal, Nagi's moments and this is truncated pretty heavily just from part 1 that u guys didnt like that much. Im no saying it couldnt be shorter and more focused but S2 ep2 didnt give me any feeling of even remotely trying aside from the pretty colors. (even when it was suppose to be more dynamic with Karasu, Shido and Chigiri) They were transitions that felt made in windows movie maker with filters of sparkles on screen and that wavy filter i guess too(which were kinda through out the entire episode) . Its not about being a popular opinion or what not but imo ep1 was miles better then ep2 even tho i dont even know if i can compare it cuz aside from Sae vs Rin in the beginning there wasnt much movement for ep1, but at least everything else looked crisp. There were a lot of frames in ep2 with ppl's back head shots and Shido's face that looked terrible. Mostly my complain comes from the fact that they were so popular for s1 , top manga sales in 2023 even bypassing one piece, jjk and all the other heavy hitters and u cant pay a bit more money to ur artist/animators to be able to do more then manga with colors and voice acting? Cuz that's what ep2 was. There are manga edits on youtube that look better then this and its done by 1 person with 0 budget.

They would have people running in place essentially with the background infinitely moving sometimes, and if not that, then it would almost always be still frames or the same cg running cycle put on all the character models We complained every episode about this last season and everyone gave us shit for it, but now I guess it’s popular opinion? The difference here is that the art is slightly better now with the big splashes of color so it makes the still frames a lot nicer

2024-10-18 18:04:07 +0000 UTCI guess i never thought about it like that but i still feel like if they replace even the most basic movement of a pass with a still frame, that doesnt look good on the overall production. They are a lot of ppl calling it a ppt presentation instead of a fluid animation. Tho i do agree season 1 also had that, at least in season 1 it wasnt this much. I guess will have to wait and see if the big matches are better.
