2024-11-01 01:12:11 +0000 UTCIn all honesty, I think Zoro survived cus Kuma gave him a taste of the pain. So he prepared himself and dealt with it. Just a headcanon.

2024-10-30 10:40:24 +0000 UTCNo just keep things consistent, they said they would provide podcasts for each arc so it shouldn't be an issue. They have had a podcast for every saga, so why would this be any different?

2024-10-30 07:09:08 +0000 UTCFrustratingly few people understand that just because those of us who are caught up know how to read what we see on screen in these episodes doesn't mean that someone seeing them for the first time should be able to. Just because the explanation is of how something *is* in the present, based on what we know to be true from future context, doesn't mean that it isn't a spoiler.

2024-10-30 06:13:52 +0000 UTCWhat possesses someone to write a full paragraph breakdown of the backstory of a character that was just introduced and not explained yet?
unlucker
2024-10-30 04:39:37 +0000 UTCI love to see a 30+ minute runtime on a Boldcast Reaction. Explainers in the comments: Clarifying minor details is tricky. Even if they missed a line of dialouge, you knowing the eventual reveal will color your explanation. Even pointing out that a detail is important can spoil things. Let them theorize about off the wall stuff. That makes great content. They don't need every breadcrumb explicitly laid out.
Blake Johnston
2024-10-30 01:44:53 +0000 UTCToo much information, please modify your first paragraph. They have literally just got introduced to Kuma and barely understand the actions of the character, let alone where he came from. Why do people feel compelled to give a full background and description on a character that has only barely been shown. All of this will be elaborated later in the story.

2024-10-29 19:29:56 +0000 UTCThis is from their discord Spoilers are defined as any information on a subject, explicit or implicit, that a first time consumer has not been made aware of by way of consumption of said media. In other words, spoiling someone is more than simply detailing plot events of a story that can happen in the future, and can include even minute details such as character names, story arc titles, or other seemingly insignificant details. When you tell them something that they didnt ask for you are making them aware of something they cant possibly be aware of at this point. You CORRECTING their theories is why I said why cant they be wrong. They are wrong about something in their theory and you feel the need to correct it when they never asked. You still have time to delete your comments man
Ty
2024-10-29 18:56:13 +0000 UTCDid you not read any of my messages? I literally never said they can’t be wrong about things, in fact I brought up multiple examples of things I have no desire to correct them on.
Will.Har310
2024-10-29 18:46:38 +0000 UTCIdk why they arent allowed to be wrong about things. You clarifying without them asking is just lame. I also dont understand why you think we are being piranhas. How are we missing the nuance here please explain? If they are way off the mark with a theory let them. Literally nothing in the show so far explains how kumas power works yet you feel the need to stifle theory and conversation around it. Dont you find it weird that people have talked about your comments over and over again. Doesnt that kind of set off a red flag in your brain? Why talk about things they do not know? Why dont you just keep the comments about the episode. Why dont you just keep knowledge they wouldnt know to yourself? Why do you feel the need to tell them that you know things they dont? Why do you get so defensive when called out? They arent commonly in the comment section so just because they responded to one of your comments doesnt mean they read all of yours. Many people who have watched boldcast for a long time know they dont want comments CONFIRMING or DENYING their theories, If they have questions about something they will ask. If you join the discord we can talk more freely about this and I can post screenshots of when carson has said he doesnt want ANY INFO about things they dont know

2024-10-29 18:44:26 +0000 UTCFor my money, I would’ve had prefer this option going next episodes forward than the other because it helps me more when I’m at work instead of synching it with my copy at home and other reactors I paid through here on Patreon also do the same method. But I understand why for legality sake

2024-10-29 18:28:29 +0000 UTCThat’s the thing about interpretation, you interpret what they said as, anytime they have a theory no matter how small nobody should ever say anything about it. I interpret it as, if they ever have a theory about the plot that’s wildly off the mark, don’t correct them just because they are wrong about the plot. They want to have their own idea of what the plot is, and they only want what the show tells them itself to inform them of said plot. The only people who I’ve seen say what I say is a problem is everyone but Carson and Lindsey, and they’ve left replies to me before, so they can clearly speak for themselves. If they truly think my comments are an issue, I’ll wait for them to tell me themselves.

Corazon
2024-10-29 17:03:20 +0000 UTCAt least I’m not over here explaining how Kuma’s cyborg body works. I’m not over here shutting down all their theories about Luffy’s family lineage. I purposefully didn’t say nothing about that to let them theorize about it, because it’s plot relevant. People clarify little things all the time, and this is a little thing I’m clarifying. Y’all really don’t understand nuance I swear man, I try hard not to spoil anything, and every time I say the littlest things, you piranhas come and eat me alive. The Patreon mods here feel like cops on a power trip pulling me over for going one mile over the speed limit. I guess I just won’t try to be an active participant in the community anymore since this is all it seems to lead to. I can’t even talk about my opinion of Moria on a character level without being accused of ruining their enjoyment of the show.
Will.Har310
2024-10-29 16:59:22 +0000 UTCLegendary episode of One Piece But why include the actual video of the episode? Is this gonna happen moving forward with the next episodes or just this episode?
Monkey D. Lucci
2024-10-29 16:55:49 +0000 UTCYeah, it ruins the reaction because instead of people thinking "Wow, Zoro's so cool" they think "Oh, so that's what the comments were talking about this whole time". This was one of Zoro's best moments early on, and people foul it up just so that they can feel superior and essentially say 'I know something you don't know'. It's so pointless and selfish.
Isaac Sato
2024-10-29 16:45:35 +0000 UTCBut when you just explicitly tell them how it works it stops all theories around it. Why do people feel the need to explain something when they never asked. You still have time to delete this comment btw

2024-10-29 16:40:03 +0000 UTCZorro almost died standing up
Corazon
2024-10-29 16:36:45 +0000 UTCAnd no they don’t clarify it, they show it again, but it’s not like they take a moment to break down how the power works because as I said it’s not important to the story. It’s just an ability.
Will.Har310
2024-10-29 16:16:22 +0000 UTCWell when I watched this to begin with, I never assumed he had to ask where you want to go just to repel you. I pretty much realized just based off of context that he can repel anything. He doesn’t need an incantation to use his ability in any other way, so the only reason he would need to do it to a human is if he wanted to send them to a specific place. That’s not too hard to piece together just from this arc.
Will.Har310
2024-10-29 16:14:08 +0000 UTCCan we get another pod after the upcoming arc? Either the upcoming arc or the arc after it would be appreciated.
Paragohn
2024-10-29 16:03:28 +0000 UTCOf course it does, otherwise how would you know about it?
Gino
2024-10-29 16:01:47 +0000 UTCThere’s no reason not to. Is clarifying an ability that we’ve already seen and has no impact on the plot really such a crime? It’s not like the show itself makes a point to clarify this later on.
Will.Har310
2024-10-29 15:01:35 +0000 UTCYou don't really need to tell them that
Gino
2024-10-29 14:54:29 +0000 UTCOkay dude I'd go a little easier on stuff that's gonna be fully explained later. They missed some stuff but it's fine because they will be given full explanations rathee soon.
Capitano
2024-10-29 14:52:53 +0000 UTCKuma doesn’t need to ask them where they want to be warped to, he was choosing to do that.
Will.Har310
2024-10-29 14:26:54 +0000 UTCI’m not necessarily sure if this arc needs a podcast but I wouldn’t mind them doing it if they wanted. They could just include it with the next set of arcs podcast

2024-10-29 13:44:20 +0000 UTCKuma isn't a robot with AI. He confirms to Zoro that he is a Cyborg like Franky, with the difference being he has significantly more advanced cybernetics. He is an extremely powerful and notorious human pirate who ate the Paw-Paw Fruit, became a Warlord, and then allowed the government to use him as a prototype for their human weapons project. He's just very stoic. Why does he obey the government? ...Why did he allow them to use him for their human weapons program? ...How does he know Dragon, the most heinous criminal in the world? All good questions. The three types of devil fruits are Logia (rarest so far), Zoan, and Paramecia (most common). Logia fruits turn the user into the living embodiment of a natural element (Fire, Ice, Sand, Lightning, Darkness). Zoan fruits allow the user to turn into an animal (Leopard, Wolf, Giraffe, Human). Paramecia fruits give the user a superhuman ability (rubber man, repel all things, full-body blade man, candle man).

2024-10-29 11:05:31 +0000 UTCWhen I said to please ignore the comments about this arc's reception, ''Nothing Happens'' is what i meant. It's a joke that can go from funny to a big wave of spam real quick. And the way it warps people's perception of the arc instead of just experiencing until that moment when you're like ''Oh that's what they meant'' doesn't feel worth it. Glad you guys had a laugh at it. And i'm afraid that kind of out of context comments and jokes would just continue to spread as we go further into the arcs. I know it's just a commitment to the bit but it can be really annoying. Maybe a disclaimer of some sort would help make people realize it's not recommended but the internet's the internet.

2024-10-29 10:57:15 +0000 UTCAmazing stretch of episodes, could talk for hours about what it all does but the most important part imo includes the 2 active Strawhats during this ordeal. Zoro, when he first met Luffy told him if his path to Pirate King ever stops him from becoming Pirate King, he'd have to pay with his own life. Zoro's character progression ever since then has been slowly showing. First big change being his duel with Mihawk and his promess to his Captain he called Pirate King. Putting faith in Luffy, but also to his promess to become the World's greatest swordman to match Luffy's ambition. Here Zoro made a bet on his own ambition, and his future potential. It's such a big 180 of who he was when this journey started. And then comes in Sanji, and his dialogue is just as interesting. He mentions how he's always been ready to sacrifice for others. Something we saw early on in Baratie and saw a few times throughout the story, like when stayed behind to save Nami and Usopp from Enel or against Krieg's pirates. Very different from the more individualistic Zoro(at the beginning of the journey) In that battle in Baratie, both Luffy AND Zoro's flights impacted Sanji. (Which is why it's such a SHAME the Live Action didn't have Sanji witness Zoro's fight. He wasn't even doing anything to be removed from the audience. Anyway...) He talked about how easy it would be to throw away your ambition. Because that's what he himself was doing in the Baratie. His survivor guilt over Zeff's leg as a Pirate and cook weighed too much on him so much so that he couldn't think of leaving him behind. Something Luffy called out. Sacrificing yourself is no way to repay a debt. Flash forward to Thriller bark, and Sanji asks Zoro about his own ambition and what he'd do throwing it away. And my question is always ''What about yours Sanji ?" His self sacrificial nature in Baratie didn't magically disappear and it shows throughout the arcs. He even considers Zoro irreplaceable for his dream but he doesnt think the same for himself '' You can find another cook ''. And when it comes to both characters together, i think the biggest change was in the Davy Back Fight. Prior to that they'd always go one after the other or fight within them two. That was the first time they actually fought together. And even there, prior to the team up, they'd just step on each other's toe. ''Dont get in my way'' ''Do as i say'' etc For a brief moment they put their bickering aside and agreed to fight as a duo. And in that whole section they didn't talk to each other once, that's how in sync they were. Earlier, Zoro said he'd fight Kuma on his own, and asked the others to not interfere. When Kuma was about to get him, Sanji stepped in. If it was anyone else, like Franky or even Usopp, i think he'd still think it was overstepping his honor as he wanted a duel. But it was Sanji, someone he's already accepted as strong and reliable. So when he turns around and sees Sanji grabbing his leg and screaming in pain, he understands how much they're screwed and that they can't do anything to stop Kuma. So he gives himself up and we get the most intense moment in the whole arc with the iconic ''Nothing Happened''
Sanji Joestar
2024-10-29 10:50:17 +0000 UTCPeople spamming "Nothing happened" on everyone's reaction videos to this arc is actually very fucking annoying and is one of the few things I hate most about this fanbase

2024-10-29 10:26:26 +0000 UTCFor the devil fruits clothes thing, Oda was asked that in an SBS(Vol.24): " Q: How is it that the spikes from Miss Doublefinger's "Toge Toge Fruit"/Spike Spike fruit can also grow from outside her body (her clothes, that is)? Oda: Huh? Are you referring to the fact that the spikes would rip the clothes? If I did that, wouldn't this become an extraordinarily EROTIC MANGA?! And if I did that, then I'd have to draw it that way on book covers, so then everyone'd be super embarrassed when trying to buy it at the bookstore!! You want that?! " Basically aesthetics over logistics which is why Chopper's clothes grow with him or Luffy's when they go giant. Or Ace's outfits.
Sanji Joestar
2024-10-29 10:23:44 +0000 UTCThere is no context behind the meaning as I stated before, so there is no way for them to know what its actually implying, (although im not a fan of how it might of tampered there expectations due to them taking the joke serously) but that being said, people should not make a habbit of over using this kind of leading expectations for certain phrases or even memes because some could carry deeper context, that will end up being a spoiler. If people get used to the idea then people will abuse it. So I think its something we can just let go for this one time only, but refraim from commenting these type of alluding "jokes" or hints for other types of events in the future.

2024-10-29 08:51:17 +0000 UTCProps to the animators for this episode, most of it looked unbelievably crisp especially for the time. Love that Zoro comes around from threatening to off Luffy if he gets in the way of his ambitions when they first met to selflessly throw his life to save his. What a goated chad, took all that pain, stayed on his feet, and doesn't even brag about it.

FoxfireEspresso
2024-10-29 08:13:13 +0000 UTCThe types are Paramecia, Zoan, and Logia. The Paw Paw Fruit falls within the Paramecia category. As far as abilities go, it's probably the most versatile in it's theming so far. Much like Moria where his powers really stretch the concept of "shadows". I imagine Kuma's range of powers stems from the fact that paw pads irl act as shock absorbers for animals. So in that sense you can frame it as "paws deflect/repel damage" and then Oda stretched that into "paws deflect anything" and just went wild from there. But that's just me speculating.

2024-10-29 07:18:21 +0000 UTCIt's crazy to me how Zoro went from telling Luffy that he would join him, but he would still put his own ambition in the highest priority over anything else, to this Being willing to offer, not only his life, but his dream and his promise to Kuina in order to save his capitan? The same dude that told Luffy that if he ever did something that got in the way of his personal goals, then he would kill him with his own blade? What a great difference

2024-10-29 07:13:46 +0000 UTCI think DBZ confused the lexicon on Cyborg vs Android. (Maybe its always been hazy in media but that's what I always think of. Its the opposite of how its portrayed in DBZ) Cyborg (*cyb*ernetic *org*anism) is always supposed to mean a human/organic being with mechanical/electrical implants. The ratio of mechanical to organic components can vary but the foundation is always supposed to be a living person. Androids are always supposed to mean a machine that is built to look like a living creature but at no point were they themselves a living being. Android 16, 17 and 18 famously having been people before being turned into androids kina mucks that up a bit. Maybe that's not where you guys are getting any of your reasoning from but those two terms are supposed to convey meaning.
ChocoBoshi
2024-10-29 07:08:06 +0000 UTCThrough Kuma we see the versatility of devil fruits when the user uses their imagination. We also ready see it with Luffys use of his fruit but with Kuma he takes the “I can repel anything” to extreme levels of creativity. Imagination is the defining factor of DF.

2024-10-29 06:38:27 +0000 UTCI was definitely a bit annoyed too that some people couldn't just let the "nothing happened" bit speak for itself and had to spam it in the comments this entire arc leading up to the moment (because obviously, if enough people are spamming it, you'd eventually figure out it means *something* and therefore it's some sort of vague spoiler that might ruin the impact) but I'm very glad you guys got to have a good "Oh my god!" moment over it and still enjoyed the reveal, haha. No surprise here, but it's probably one of the Top 10 most iconic lines/moments in the series - maybe even Top 5. Every Straw Hat has their own iconic badass moment or line that gets talked about more than anything else, and this is Zoro's.
