A More Civilized Q&A - April 2025

First and foremost, you should go check out this post on our main feed for an important announcement about our planned coverage of Andor. Second, hopefully this Q&A ep, the first one actually arriving during the month it was recorded in in forever and which serves as our Rebels finale lookback episode, will serve as a replacement for your ears this week.

We'll be back soon with the first episode of our KOTOR 2 coverage!

Show Notes

Waypoint Radio #123: "Machine Elves"

Henry Cavill's BTS Story About His Infamous Arm Reload In MI: Fallout

The Mortis Fam never bugged me that much, and after Rebels, I feel they're by no means singularly unique or all-important, they're just more humanoid looking than the wolves or the Bendu and looking at them as one face of a Force with infinite facets, I'm way more endeared to those wierdos

Late to the party, but I was surprised during the last Rebels AMCA episode that you missed commenting on your boy Gilead Pelleaon!

I'm here because I am fundamentally uninterested in hearing about Star Wars from ppl who think empire is good. A consequence of believing that empire is bad and having integrity in a world dominated by empire is that there's going to be difficult, troubling questions. The show you make is good *because* this was a hard decision for you. I'd infinitely rather yall take your time and get to Andor whenever you get to it (or not) than burn yourself out worrying if making your show is betraying yourself.

❤️ and positive feedback b/c it's disheartening to hear y'all have had a deficit of that lately. Was I excited to hear about Andor S2, a television series I only know through your coverage? Yes. Am I excited to hear about Kotor II, a game series I've always been been curious about but only know through your coverage? Also yes. Also looking forward to more novels!

Not sure I'm saying anything that hasn't already been said, but I really appreciate your thoughtfulness and transparency. It's a difficult thing to navigate as an individual, but as not only a group but a group with a platform, it's a thousand times more difficult, and I appreciate your consideration of all the dynamics involved. I am grateful for the frank discussion of ambiguity, compromise, and personal ethics; whether it's Star Wars or BDS, y'all have always provided valuable insights and helped me and many others approach and grapple with things from new perspectives. The backlash is frustrating, especially because you're great about not bringing that attitude to your perspectives; I admire your ability to strike a balance between empathy and assertiveness and your willingness to admit your own mistakes or doubts. It has alway felt to me more honest than preachy, and that's rare. Keep up the good work; I look forward to more KOTOR and whatever else is on the horizon.

Honestly, even setting aside any and all ethical and political questions of the boycott, I think it’s great that you’re waiting on Andor. Not rushed and not having to do whole arcs together to keep up with the show release sounds like a win to me.

Just a quick note to say thank you for your clarity and thoughtfulness and that you have my full support! 💜

I also wanted to add my voice to those that are supporting the team’s decision to pivot to KOTOR 2. I have supported this show since day one and will continue to do so as long as I can. Authenticity and integrity is always appreciated. Continue being true to yourselves. Love the latest ep and I’ve enjoyed having an excuse to replay a beloved game. All the best to the four of you.
