FLSM: Which version?
Added 2024-09-09 19:29:59 +0000 UTCI'm curious about which version of Future Love Space Machine you are using. How many people are using the manual install version vs. the one from Steam?
Thanks for answering! It will help me decide some things moving forward.

2024-09-19 23:52:07 +0000 UTCMostly it's because I finished the first version of FLSM in 2015, and the code base is using an older version of Unity. With newer Unity versions it's easier to make builds for different devices, but for Android, etc. they require up-to-date APIs, etc. that aren't really usable in the older Unity. With new games moving forward (CakeMix and things like that), it's more doable to make builds for more devices. With Android, Oculus, iPhone, etc. they won't even put these adult games in their stores, so it's an uphill battle just trying to find a large enough base of people willing to sideload and making the games work on them in the first place. As far as Macs go, I did make a version of SexSim2 (contracted) for Mac and that took quite a bit of work getting it performant, and I also had a powerhouse iMac at the time. But then the Mac version hardly sold. Macs don't really go after the game market, so I ended up selling mine since I didn't really have a need for it, especially after getting going with VR. In any case, if there's a strong enough desire in the future for my games on anything other than PCs, I'll definitely consider it. :)

2024-09-10 02:10:11 +0000 UTCYeah I don't really know anything about coding for games. I just know that I see indie devs (in the Nsfw realm) make games with unity for all 4 OS's. Realistically it seems that getting things working is harder with MacOS though if Devs don't have multiple machines to test primarily due to all the excessive security authentication within the OS and built into the OSX unity code itself it seems. Obviously any games code is gonna have to be different for Android as opposed to Windows. Though if you're learning to develop for the Quest then that's android. from what I've read the major difference in coding for Quest on Android in Unity vs just Android, is primarily UI & controls. If it's something you feel you have the time to invest in I'm sure theres lots of resources and other creators that could help. Though, the idea of it being available for Quest isn't bad either as I'm considering getting one soon after that recent price drop on the 2.

2024-09-10 00:44:22 +0000 UTCHaha yeah I just recently realized that Steam added the ability to hide individual games on there. For the longest time I just had my whole account hidden.

2024-09-09 22:50:09 +0000 UTCUnderstood! I did realize recently that at some point in the near past, Steam made it so you can hide specific games from friends, so it is possible now.

2024-09-09 22:37:28 +0000 UTCI have both! Originally got it on Steam and then downloaded it from here. Mostly running the manual install though finally learned how to hide games on Steam lol!

2024-09-09 22:11:40 +0000 UTCIt's a Windows build, and would need an Android APK build for a phone. A lot of the internal code is only suitable for Windows so without making a special version I think Android is out of the question. Then again the only real Android development I've done lately is working with Oculus, so if you know a way to maybe make it work, please let me know. :)

2024-09-09 21:58:42 +0000 UTCI mean it's built in Unity, so in theory it might run on more recent mid-high end android devices. Currently for me that's much more likely, as based on the Sys Reqs listed on itch my phone exceeds that in terms of hardware.

2024-09-09 21:17:58 +0000 UTCcoming very soon! There are so many permutations possible, every time I think yup, it's done, I find one more little thing to improve. Almost there, though.

2024-09-09 21:06:45 +0000 UTCI was thinking about doing a Mac version back when I had a development iMac, but I just couldn't get it to perform well on it so I gave up the idea. The game is designed on older hardware and I do like to keep my games running on older stuff, so if you have access to an older gaming PC it might just work. Thanks for following along with the project even if not. :)

2024-09-09 21:05:56 +0000 UTCUnfortunately not using either, been wanting to use it for years though. Originally I believe there was a Mac version being worked on but that was given up on I think due to lack of testing resources. Realistically my phone has better hardware anyway 😅
