As you know I normally "pencil" in a really light blue, helps separate out my pencils from my inks when I refine the line art. When I recolor my pencils with a more "pencil" grey the roughness of my sketches comes out, but I think it might be easier to actually see, for you know when it's just sketching.
Anyway. Practice. Faces. Bodies. Expressions. Stuff.

I really enjoy how the grey looks and it does indeed "read" better... I'm also a traditional media addict and it makes me think of graphite. X3
