Added 2019-04-29 16:29:32 +0000 UTCI was asked to christen a Steven Universe sketchbook with my favorite Steven Universe character. I think I did ok.
The forward in the sketchbook included a tale of the most insightful thing Rebecca Sugar’s little brother ever taught her. The short of it is: in high school her brother drew a comic about birds, and when she asked “why birds?” he replied, “I didn’t know how to draw birds, and now I do.”
Wise advice for any artist: draw what you don’t know yet.
