New stretch goals feedback
Added 2015-10-01 01:12:40 +0000 UTCFirst, wow-- what a response for the launch month! I can't express my gratitude for the support patrons have shown this effort-- thank you!
Since all stretch goals were hit and delivered on (except for updating CR3 DormLife mod-- it is about 80% complete and should be ready by end of October), it is time for more stretch. If you invest and support, you deserve a commitment that the offerings will continue and improve in quality. With that said, I'm proposing the following additional goals:
1.) $750- Commission a model for game treatment. I'd ask for model nominations and for a patron vote on one model who, budget permitting, would be commissioned to provide photography, video and audio for inclusion in a project. This would provide a range and depth to the game experience that would definitely improve the user experience.
2.) $1000- Commitment to produce 4 mid to large scope games per annum. There might be some smaller scope projects (such as interactive fiction or a Spoils of War sized game) in addition, but this is achievable.
Please let me know what you think of the proposed goals either here or on the forum. If you haven't joined us there, you should-- lots of fun and smart discussions are going on there!

Hi Doc- I'll investigate this. I suspect it might involve more than a course tho!

2015-10-01 21:09:21 +0000 UTCRichard- you're correct! In reviewing the existing stretch goals, I have NOT delivered updates on CR yet-- but will do so. Also, the POV inversion project, as a stretch goal, will be developed, as this was a commitment made prior to recruiting a Board that now advises on project dev priorities. Thank you for drawing my attention to this-- in the rush to tackle new things, I can't just abandon the projects that drew many here to begin with!

2015-10-01 21:08:31 +0000 UTCHey, you say that the other stretch goals were met and delivered, where are those exactly? I'm thinking of the updated versions of CR 1,2 and 3 and the POV inversion piece?

2015-10-01 12:40:01 +0000 UTCI’m going to be incredibly boring and say that while custom contain would be fun the real bottleneck seems to be the delivery platform. Sure custom contain would improve the experience but what you are currently using is, frankly, good enough for me. What would really matter is the user interface. Shooting lots of great material in glorious full HD won’t matter much unless you can compile your games in much greater resolution. While your storytelling is great the presentation can sometimes be a little clunky and counter intuitive. Only having options visible when you can actually use them is one example, having options change color depending on whether you have used them before is another obvious example. The ability to have an option do different things depending on variables would also be an incredibly powerful tool. If you click on “Talk to X” different things happen depending on triggers and variables . Not having played around with the engine I can’t really judge what is possible but my suggestion would be to prioritize consulting an expert who can help you really push the engine and knows what is possible and what isn’t. If possible spend the money on a weekend workshop rather than a model shoot to start with. As I said – I’m rather boring.
