Update on next SOTU release & Modding (?)
Added 2016-09-24 23:22:13 +0000 UTCWe're on schedule mid week for the Executive ($5+ Patrons) Release of SOTU and if you have been tracking it, you'll find even more changes/fixes in this next version. Seph is tightening up some bits and I plan on re-jigging some pawns. Esclavage, an early fan and supporter, pointed out how much he liked 'unlocking' pawns that were associated with powerbases and that made me think it was also a good way to tighten up game balance by taking pawns that have been initially available and tying them to powerbases. I'll be making those adjustments which should make the game that bit more fun.
Following this release, we'll wait for any remaining issues then do an Early Release for our Associate Patrons ($1+) the following week. Everyone else will have to wait until late January '17 to get the Public Release. Patrons first!
One thing that has struck me is how 'moddable' SOTU is. Potentially it could be modded as a sci fi, fantasy or historical game pretty much using the same system (so planets or kingdoms instead of neighborhoods etc). Depending on memory space issues it would also seem to be a game very easy to drop additional content in later. One stretch goal is to commission additional content creators and writers on blogs centred on socity.wide subjugation of women such as The Great Empire of Slavendel or exec2sec blogs would seem a shoe in for writing more content for this game.
