Celesta U Re-boot News
Added 2017-05-22 01:09:18 +0000 UTCIf you liked the idea of CU but weren't happy with the way it turned out, you weren't alone. Given that there's a Cult game dev hiatus while assets are being developed, I'm taking another swing at CU. The best advice has been to break it up, which I've done-- Part 1 will be the administration/uni, Part 2 will be the Faculty and designing the curricula and Part 3 will be the student body training and auction.
Part 1 is underway-- here's the latest:
1.) Will be split into 3 games, first being actual takeover of campus. Working title is New Girl Order and focus is on dominating the staff members and takes place in summer session (no students/faculty)
2.) I've ditched the financial aspect-- it wasn't fun and didn't add much
3.) NPCs now have 2 stats-- willpower and libido. Their resistance depends on choices taken. When controlled, they provide Authority points (more in a bit)
4.) Players now have 2 new stats- Charm & Bully. These impact chance of success to control staff.
5.) Each NPC now has 5 levels of control (from Independent to Broken). Each level cracked provides a reward.
6.) Each NPC can be used to enact Policies. Policies provide Mission points.
7.) Each NPC can now provide, if successfully pushed, a trophy and a blackmail porn video. These provide different types of rewards as well
8.) There is a Board of 5 Trustees. You must fire/replace at least 3 to win control of university. You need Authority points to fire/replace. Each Trustee provides Mission Points.
9.) With Board Control, you may change motto and name of university. These provide Mission Points.
Player's results will be based on Mission points, which represent how good a job you've done of preparing the campus for SC control.
I'm slogging through the game re-de now-- it is about 35% complete w/o testing. I'm hoping to have something for testers end of this coming week.
Much of the game will look familiar but there are some new twists. Here are some screenshots of some of the new concepts.
If you have any suggestions in line with the new framework, feel free to share them here:
