Kitten Update: The Kittening
Added 2015-10-18 17:22:21 +0000 UTCThe little bean has made a lot of progress this month. She's on solid/moist food now (which she flings herself into full-body at feeding time), using the litter box on her own, and generally doing all the things a kitten ought to. These photos paint a very snuggly picture, but in the flip of a switch, she's a galloping, leaping, tackle-fight-hop-hop jumping bean.
There's a video of her in motion here (but it hardly conveys just how much bouncing off the walls she's been doing the past couple of days).
I want to thank everyone for all of the name suggestions! It's been difficult to choose, but she's now entitled Maya (even though the moniker Jellybean remains in use more often than not).

2015-10-19 13:22:05 +0000 UTCAh, wow. That's quite the problem. I haven't had issues with UTIs in my cats since I've lived in Missouri...at least not yet. I'm not sure if it has to do with the decent tap quality or just sheer luck.. I'll keep it in mind as a possible source of trouble, though.

I think 3 would be a much more ideal number, at least in terms of veterinary expense - heh - but it is what it is, and I love them all (Calvin, Sebastian, Gigi, Luca and Maya). Mitzi was a cat I had during my childhood and, sadly, Ivy passed away last year.

We started with bottled and switched to filtered and not a problem since, much longer lived cats over the past decades.
