Volume 2 Proof
Added 2016-06-07 06:05:34 +0000 UTC
Welp...it'll be a more effective bludgeoning instrument than Volume 1, at least.
This is just the proof. The cover colors won't look so dull, and will have some spot UV shine in the final product. I've also adjusted the tones and sent the modified version off to the printer to de-purple-ize a bit. Overall, though, this is what the Volume 2 hardcover will look like.
They should be available and shipping in the latter half of July. Orders will open soon, and I'm going to send some coupon codes out so that any $5+ Patrons looking to purchase one needn't pay full price.
I do apologize for any Volume 1 owners who were perhaps wanting a second volume with the same dimensions to line up on a shelf. I can see how this might be annoying. Faced with the option to cram a lot of art and text into a small space (as I felt I did with Volume 1, regrettably) or to scale up, I opted for the latter - to just let it breathe and take up the space it needed. 4DE will be following up with a reprint of Volume 1 at this new size as well.
Lastly, I've updated the Volume 2 PDF to include the cover and back cover art. For those of you with access to the PDF rewards, you can find it here.

Ahhh... The joys of making a book from start to finish. Not many people realise the extra amount of work put into this design and production process.
The graphic design is looking stellar Tracy. I seriously can't wait to have that copy in my hands, just to feel and embrace the work you put into it, even when we all had the opportunity to read the story in advance.
That kind of experience having the book in front of you - a physical manifestation of the artist's vision in your very own hands, can't be paid by a Mastercard, it's a priceless experience.
And also... Once we hit Book Three, I'll start considering "Lackadaisy: The Movie"....! Mua ha ha haaaah!

Volume 1 will be there, but not the extra large reprint. I was too caught up in scrambling to get Volume 2 ready for Anthrocon, I didn't have time for any Volume 1 stuff. Sorry about that! It'll be along soon, though.

Can't imagine all the work that went into doing this, especially with the scale-up of Volume I! Looks fantastic!

I am definitely going to spend money I don't have on these two volumes. Also definitely going to wait for the reprint of Vol. 1 in the same size as 2 , because yes, a streamlined shelf is always aesthetically pleasing. :)

Fantastic! I'm so looking forward to getting my hands on both. :D I got the first volume once before, but it ended up in my dad's collection due to its sheer awesomeness. He couldn't let it go. ;)

Any chance the reprint of Vol.1 will be available at Anthrocon? It'd be lovely to pick up a fresh copy!

Rest assured, my credit card is at the ready for when this and the reprint of Volume 1 come out. I've got a lot of catching up to do, and what better way than with a set of classy books?

Eeeeee! It's Gorgeous & I can't wait to get it! :D The Obvious Solution to the size disparity is clearly to re-release (at a later date that is more convenient to you) Volume 1 at the same size as Volume 2 ^_^

Even though it's a blithe disregard of shelf symmetry which will force me to get yet another copy of the first volume (notice my pretended suffering here) I can see how the new format favors the overall product experience and I agree that it was a good decision to be made. Can't wait to hold it in my hands and inspect every single inch of it. Nice job as usual!
