Expanding Key NPCs
Added 2022-09-02 21:33:01 +0000 UTCHey all,
It’s esclavage again. Selectacorp has been very busy as of late and we’re excited that he’s announced his 12 month development plan for Company Man. We’ll be conducting separate polls based on what he’s laid out for us all. We’ll also be holding a bigger poll to get a sense for the “market opportunity” you all are most interested in for the Company Man expansion when the game goes global.
In the meantime, I’m here to follow up on the original poll we posted. More Demotion Events was the clear winner so we’ll be building upon the theme to see which potential Artemis gal which additional content added to her.
Here are current proposed choices:
1) Deb Jones - the ultimate Girl Friday herself. She already has the lion’s share of content dedicated to her but she is the fan favorite for a reason. Choosing this option would allow for a more in-depth kind of slowburn narrative by building out the phase Deb Jones Job Transition. Choose this option if any of these ideas appeal:
Her attempts (& failures) to escape employment at Artemis. Deb Jones trying out different jobs around town before crawling back to the Player.
Deb Interactions around Zenith in different Locations as appropriate
Expanding out the small and the petty duties the Player assigns to Deb before she’s ready to be a full-on Secretary to the Player.
2) Susan Granger - the pushover boss of CSG. Susan already has clear narrative paths built but there’s still room for more. In particular, there’s a potential rich mine of expansion in having her to Assistant to the CSG Manager (the Player) before her subsequent fall. She will be the Player’s first ‘Secretary’ before the Player will upgrade to Debbie when the time is right. Choose this option if any of these ideas appeal:
A servile ‘yes woman’ at the Player’s beck and call.
Repeated opportunities to expose just how incompetent Susan is.
Small, petty squabbles between her and the others at CSG as Susan still attempts to pull rank as the Player’s Assistant.
3) Tracey Bledsoe - the Director of Planning. Tracey’s used to getting her way; she’s accustomed to making others ask ‘how high?’ when she says ‘Jump’. While she also has clear narrative paths, there’s also opportunities here to explore. In particular, there’s an interesting opportunity to explore as Director In Name Only before Tracey is ousted from her role. Choose this option if any of these ideas appeal:
Quid pro quo arrangements - the Player providing Resources Tracey so desperately needs to impress the C-Suite. The first one is free but the progressive ones will have a higher and higher cost.
Office power plays - the Player undermining Tracey in front of the others, keying them that he’s really the one running the show
The Players’ catspaw - use Tracey against the other Departments to battle and create internal strife to benefit the Player
Make your choice below!

would be have Susan encourage the junior staff to be more friendly towards Hunter as you does say the are the best while you tells you everything about the company what better way to break her is to help break them. Sorry for the two post
