Weekly Update

I'm quite good. Just woke up, already thinking of you ^^

I had a very interesting end of the week.

As I was completing the line work on the "TigerSharks" pic on Thursday afternoon, a childhood friend of mine PMed me with an offer I just couldn't refuse. It was pretty well-paid, and something I always dreamed of working on. So I signed a pretty hefty NDA and got to work. Drop a dump truck full of money on my yard, and I turn into Nicholas Cage.

The only issue was that It had to be completed by the 2nd (which I thought was tomorrow until just now, so...), while most of the team is on a break because of Canada Day this week.

Because of the NDA, I won't say anything else about it, but I'm pretty much done, waiting for the last correction notes as we speak. The client is happy with the quality of work and my speed. I am happy with my work, had fun with it, and I just checked a pretty unique item off my bucket list. I'll have to wait a few months to see the final result, but I can't wait ^^

Time to get back to normal...

Or is it?

Because, as I said last time, I was working on 3 projects at the same time :P

1, was the contract I can't talk about.

2, I think I finally found a story for the next Star Wars chapter. It's a very simple story, and I still need to figure a few things out, but I should be able to write the first draft.

3, I've been reading some old-school Euro comics lately ("Storm" and "Haxtur"... but I was also thinking a lot about "John Carter From Mars" ) and I got jealous about the simplicity of the concepts. It didn’t took long for my brain to come up with something pulpy that got me pretty excited.

I’m thinking of working on a simple sci-fi, where I will take my own main character, drop her on a new world, where she’d get to a place, have a small adventure ( I’m thinking 5 pages max ) and move on to the next place. Nothing complicated. Nothing that gets out of hand. Just small encounters with one simple linear direction.

I’m thinking, pretty much no scripts, very little dialogues (if any) and flat colors ( for the retro feel… but that might change ). I’ve even started sketching to figure out the look and feel of the thing. And pretty much everywhere I look trigger a new idea for a possible encounter these days. So I’m pretty sure I’ll start working on this soon enough.

But first, I need to finish with Tracy’s book. And with only one page a week, it might take a while.

I am considering changing my plans about this… but not this week. I’m still in the conception phase in any case, so… for the moment, I’ll keep on with 1 page a week + whatever pinup I can make. But just know I’m thinking about going full time on Tracy’s issue so I can complete it as fast as possible.

And I’m already a little behind this week :P . I have a new background to draw for the new page so…
